How to install VNish firmware 2.0.4 on an Antminer S17 miner
Before we get started, make sure you have the following items:
- One 4GB+ Micro SD Card
- One computer with an internet connection
- One Antminer S17 miner
Now that you have everything you need let’s get started.
First, format your USB drive as FAT32.
Next, we will refresh Bitmain’s firmware to its original manufactured state with the help of a Recovery SD Card.
To do so, we need to download and extract the contents of this file on the Micro SD Card: https://d-central.tech/dl/SD_RECOVERY_S17_T17.zip
Once the download is complete, unzip the file and copy it to your Micro SD Card.
Next, plug the Micro SD card into your Antminer S17 miner and power on the device.
Let the the miner boot up and wait for the control board to blink both its red and green LED lights three times.
Power off the miner and remove the SD card.
You are now factory restored with the original Bitmain firmware, we can now proceed to upgrade to VNish 2.0.4.
To do so, go to the administration page on your web browser and find the “Upgrade Firmware” section. Click “Browse” and select the VNish firmware file for S17.
Finally, click “Upgrade” and wait for the process to complete.
