Step 1: Preparing the Tools
- Download the latest firmware for the L7 miner from the official website and save it on your computer.
- Connect your computer and the mining machine (or control board) to the same router. Ensure that the router has DHCP service enabled.
- Open the IPReporter tool on your computer and click “Start” to begin.
- Press the IPReport button on the miner or control board. The miner’s indicator light will flash red and green for 5 times, indicating that the miner has successfully fed the IP to the network.
- The IPReporter software on your computer will display the IP and MAC address of the mining machine. Make a note of the IP address.
Step 2: Login to the Miner
- Open Google Chrome (or Firefox) on your computer and type the IP address obtained in the previous step into the address bar. Press Enter to access the miner’s web interface.
- A user name and password prompt will appear. Enter the default username and password, which is “root”. If you have changed the credentials, use the username and password you set to log in.
Step 3: Miner Upgrade
- Once you are logged in to the backend of the miner, locate the firmware upgrade option. Note that it may be hidden under the system dropdown bar. Click on the system dropdown menu and select Firmware Upgrade.
- In the firmware upgrade screen, click the Upload button (1) to open the file selection window.
- Navigate to the location where you saved the downloaded firmware file (2). Select the corresponding firmware (3) and open it (4).
- After selecting the firmware, the name of the firmware file will be displayed in the window. Confirm that the firmware is correct and proceed to upgrade the firmware.
- Click on the upgrade firmware button to initiate the upgrade process. The miner will indicate that the firmware upgrade is in progress. It will take approximately 1 minute for the miner to upgrade the firmware and reboot.
- After the upgrade is completed, verify that the firmware version displayed on the miner’s interface matches the upgraded firmware version. If they match, the upgrade is successful.
