Definition
Noise reduction is essential for home mining viability. Common approaches include: replacing stock fans with low-noise alternatives (Noctua), building or buying sound-dampening enclosures, using duct silencers on exhaust, immersion cooling (eliminates fans entirely), and placing miners in isolated spaces (basements, garages, closets).
Each approach has tradeoffs. Fan swaps are the cheapest and most popular. Enclosures add cost and may restrict airflow. Immersion is the most effective but most expensive. The right solution depends on the mining setup, available space, and noise tolerance.
