Definition
Temperature sensors are embedded on hashboards near ASIC chips and at air inlet/outlet points. They continuously report temperatures to the control board firmware, which uses the data to adjust fan speeds, trigger warnings, and initiate emergency shutdowns if temperatures exceed safe thresholds.
Failed or disconnected temperature sensors can cause a miner to report errors, run fans at maximum speed, or refuse to start. Sensor issues are a common diagnostic finding in ASIC repair.
In Simple Terms
Sensors monitoring chip and ambient temperatures to prevent overheating and control fan speeds.
