Description
Overview
The Bitaxe Power Supply is a 5V 6A DC adapter with a 5.5×2.1mm barrel jack connector — the exact power input that every single-chip Bitaxe model requires. This is not a generic USB charger or repurposed laptop brick. It is purpose-selected and tested by D-Central for stable Bitaxe operation at both stock and overclocked frequencies.
A common mistake among new Bitaxe owners is attempting to power their miner via USB-C. The USB-C port on all Bitaxe models (Supra, Ultra, Gamma, Max) is exclusively for firmware flashing and serial console access — it cannot deliver the power the ASIC chip demands. This PSU connects through the correct 5V barrel jack and delivers 6 amps of clean, regulated DC power, which is enough headroom for overclocked operation on any single-chip Bitaxe variant.

Key Features
- Correct Connector: 5.5×2.1mm barrel jack — the exact power input for all single-chip Bitaxe models. No adapters or modifications needed.
- 6A Capacity: 6 amps provides headroom beyond what a stock Bitaxe draws, supporting overclocked configurations without voltage droop.
- Universal Input: 100-240V AC input works worldwide. Plug it in anywhere from Canada to Europe to Asia.
- Built-in Protection: Overvoltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection safeguard your Bitaxe hardware.
- Tested by D-Central: Every PSU is verified for stable voltage output under load before being stocked. We use these same units for our own Bitaxe testing bench.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use any 5V USB charger instead?
No. The Bitaxe does not take power through USB. It uses a 5.5×2.1mm DC barrel jack. You need a dedicated 5V DC adapter with the correct barrel connector. A USB charger, regardless of wattage, will not physically connect to the Bitaxe power input.
Q: Will this power a Bitaxe GT or Bitaxe Hex?
No. The Bitaxe GT and Bitaxe Hex use a 12V DC XT30 connector — a completely different power system. This 5V PSU is exclusively for single-chip Bitaxe models (Max, Ultra, Supra, Gamma) and the NerdAxe.
Q: Is 6A enough for overclocking?
Yes. Even an aggressively overclocked single-chip Bitaxe draws under 25W at peak. The 30W capacity of this PSU provides comfortable headroom for any overclocking profile.
Q: Does this work with 220V outlets?
Yes. The PSU accepts 100-240V AC input, so it works on any standard household outlet worldwide. You may need a plug adapter for non-North American outlets, but no voltage converter is required.
Why D-Central
D-Central has shipped thousands of Bitaxe units and this is the same PSU we include in our bundled builds and use on our testing bench. It is not the cheapest 5V adapter on the market — it is the one we trust with our own hardware. As a Bitaxe ecosystem pioneer, we know exactly what these miners need to run reliably 24/7.
