Description
Premium Bitaxe Heatsink — High-Performance Aluminum Cooler with VRM Heatsink Included
The Premium Bitaxe Heatsink is built for solo miners who want serious cooling without paying flagship prices. Its large fin-surface design rapidly pulls heat away from the ASIC, maintaining consistently low temperatures and preventing throttling during long mining sessions. The result: higher stable clock speeds, quieter fan operation, and a miner that runs reliably 24/7 under real-world overclocking conditions.
This is the heatsink that ships with a free voltage regulator heatsink — because your VRM runs just as hot as your ASIC when you start pushing frequencies, and nobody else includes one at this price.

Cooling Performance
The Premium Heatsink’s large fin-surface design is engineered for the thermal demands of ASIC mining at overclocked speeds. Enhanced airflow channels and optimized thermal contact keep your ASIC running cooler, quieter, and more stable:
- Increased fin surface compared to stock and basic coolers — more surface area means faster heat dissipation
- Lower ASIC temperatures unlock higher stable frequencies without thermal throttling
- Reduced fan RPM at equivalent temperatures — noticeably quieter operation
- Black-anodized finish improves thermal radiation and resists scratches and corrosion
Free Voltage Regulator Heatsink
Every Premium Heatsink ships with a dedicated VRM heatsink — a detail most competitors overlook. When you overclock your Bitaxe, the voltage regulator works harder to deliver stable power to the ASIC. Without cooling, the VRM becomes the thermal bottleneck that limits your overclock.
- Dimensions: 9 x 9 x 12 mm
- Material: High-quality aluminum alloy
- Mounting: Pre-applied double-sided thermal adhesive — peel, stick, done
- Benefit: Cooler VRM = more stable power delivery = higher sustainable overclock
Dual Mounting System
Two installation options to match your setup:
- Nylon tension pins — Tool-free, vibration-free installation in minutes. Perfect for quick swaps, testing, or silent mining setups where zero vibration transfer matters.
- M3 screws with lock nuts — Rigid, ultra-secure mount for high-airflow or overclocked conditions. Set it and forget it.
Both systems deliver perfect alignment and optimal contact pressure for consistent thermal performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which mounting option should I use — pins or screws?
For most setups, the nylon tension pins are easiest and work great. They apply even pressure, install in seconds, and transfer zero vibration. Use the M3 screws if you are running aggressive overclocks with high-CFM fans where you want absolute mounting security, or if your Bitaxe is in a position where vibration could dislodge pins over time.
How does this compare to the Modern Heatsink?
The Premium ($14.90) is the best value in our lineup — excellent cooling, VRM heatsink included, dual mounting options. The Modern ($19.99) has a more advanced fin geometry optimized for extreme overclocking past 1000 MHz. If you are running moderate overclocks (up to ~950 MHz), the Premium handles it. If you are chasing maximum frequency, the Modern gives you extra thermal headroom.
Do I need the VRM heatsink?
At stock speeds, the VRM stays within safe temps without additional cooling. But if you are overclocking — even moderately — the VRM heatsink makes a measurable difference in stability. It is free and takes 10 seconds to install, so there is no reason not to use it.
Will this fit inside a Bitaxe case or stand?
At 25mm height, the Premium Heatsink fits inside D-Central’s Modern Stand, Mesh Standing Case, and Minimalist Stand. It is designed to be low-profile specifically for compatibility with standard Bitaxe enclosures.
Can I use this on a NerdAxe?
Yes. The 40mm footprint is compatible with NerdAxe boards. Note that NerdAxe uses USB-C for power (not the 5V barrel jack used by Bitaxe Gamma/Supra/Ultra).
Why D-Central
D-Central has been engineering Bitaxe cooling solutions since the earliest days of open-source mining. We created the original Bitaxe Mesh Stand, developed dedicated heatsinks for both Bitaxe and Bitaxe Hex, and have shipped thousands of units to solo miners worldwide. The Premium Heatsink is our best-selling cooler for a reason — it delivers the thermal performance overclockers need at a price that respects the pleb mining ethos. Built by miners, for miners. Every hash counts.
