ASIC Repair for US Miners — Cross-Border Service from D-Central Technologies

The United States is home to the largest Bitcoin mining community in the world. From massive operations in Texas and Georgia to home miners in Washington, Kentucky, and New York running machines off cheap hydroelectric or renewable energy, American miners depend on their ASIC hardware running at full capacity. But when a hashboard dies, a control board fails, or overheating shuts your miner down, finding a repair shop that does genuine chip-level work — not just parts swapping — is harder than it should be.

D-Central Technologies, based in Laval, Quebec (Canada), has been repairing ASIC miners since 2016. We are one of North America’s most experienced ASIC repair facilities with 2,500+ miners repaired and a 95%+ success rate. We serve US miners through our cross-border mail-in service: ship your miner to us in Canada, we diagnose and repair it at the component level, and ship it back — all backed by a 3-month warranty. Hundreds of American miners already trust us with their hardware.

Cross-Border Shipping: How It Works

Shipping from the US to Canada is straightforward. ASIC miners are commercial electronic equipment, and cross-border shipment follows well-established procedures. Here is what you need to know:

Shipping Your Miner to D-Central

  1. Contact us first — Call 1-855-753-9997 or email [email protected] with your miner model and symptoms. We will confirm the repair is feasible and provide our shipping address along with customs documentation guidance.
  2. Customs declaration — Mark your shipment as “electronic equipment being sent for repair — to be returned.” Declare the value of the miner accurately. Because the miner is being sent for repair (not sale), it qualifies for temporary import treatment, which means no duties are owed on the equipment itself.
  3. Choose your carrier — UPS, FedEx, and USPS all ship to Canada. UPS and FedEx handle customs clearance automatically and are the easiest option for cross-border shipments. USPS works but customs processing can be slower.
  4. Pack securely — Use a sturdy double-walled box with ample foam padding. Remove the PSU to reduce weight and shipping cost. Include a note with your name, email, phone, and symptom description.
  5. Ship with tracking and insurance — Cross-border shipments should always have tracking and insurance. Your miner is valuable equipment.

Transit Times from Major US Markets

Customs and Duties

ASIC miners shipped to Canada for repair and returned to the US are treated as temporary imports. Key points:

We handle cross-border repairs regularly and can guide you through the process. If you have specific customs questions, contact us before shipping.

Pricing Note for US Customers

D-Central repair prices are quoted in Canadian dollars (CAD). At current exchange rates, this typically works in your favor — CAD prices translate to roughly 25-30% less in USD. Our repair range of $65-$300 CAD is approximately $48-$220 USD depending on exchange rates at the time of invoicing.

We accept payment via credit card, wire transfer, and Bitcoin. For customers who prefer to pay in Bitcoin — and many of our clients do — the process is seamless.

Common Repairs for US Mining Operations

The most frequent issues we see from American miners:

Repair Pricing

D-Central repair costs range from $65 to $300 CAD (approximately $48-$220 USD):

USD estimates are approximate based on typical exchange rates. Actual invoicing is in CAD.

You receive an exact quote in CAD after diagnostics. No work begins until you approve. If the repair cost exceeds the value of your hardware, we will tell you.

Turnaround Time for US Miners

Total turnaround from ship-to-return depends on your location and shipping speed:

Express shipping (UPS/FedEx Express) can cut total turnaround by 5-10 business days. For high-value miners where downtime cost is significant, express is usually worth the extra shipping expense.

3-Month Warranty on All Repairs

Every repair includes a 3-month warranty on the specific work performed and all replacement components. If the same fault recurs within the warranty period, ship it back and we repair it at no additional cost. The warranty applies equally to all customers — US, Canadian, or international.

Why US Miners Choose D-Central

North American repair — not overseas. The alternative to D-Central is often shipping your miner to China. That means 2-4 weeks each way in transit, customs headaches, communication barriers, and zero accountability if something goes wrong. D-Central is in Canada — same continent, same time zones, same shipping infrastructure, and you can call us on the phone at 1-855-753-9997.

Genuine chip-level repair. Most repair shops swap hashboards and charge you for a new board. D-Central diagnoses to the individual chip and repairs at the component level. This means lower repair costs for you and a properly fixed machine — not just a band-aid.

8+ years of experience. We have been repairing ASIC miners since 2016 — before most of today’s repair shops existed. Over 2,500 units repaired with a 95%+ success rate. We have seen every failure mode that Bitmain, MicroBT, Canaan, and Innosilicon hardware can produce.

Canadian dollar advantage. Our prices are in CAD, which means US customers effectively get a 25-30% discount compared to USD-priced repair services. Your $300 CAD repair costs roughly $220 USD.

Bitcoin payment accepted. For miners who prefer to keep things on the Bitcoin standard, we accept BTC for repair invoices.

Complete parts inventory. We stock ASIC chips, hashboards, control boards, fans, thermal materials, and components for all major platforms. No waiting weeks for parts from Shenzhen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there customs duties when shipping my miner to Canada for repair?

No. Goods shipped to another country for repair and returned to the country of origin are treated as temporary imports and are not subject to import duties. Declare the shipment as “electronic equipment for repair — to be returned” on your customs form. UPS and FedEx handle the customs brokerage automatically. You may see a small brokerage fee ($5-$15) on the return shipment, which is standard for cross-border packages.

Which shipping carrier do you recommend for US-to-Canada shipments?

UPS and FedEx are the best options for US-to-Canada ASIC shipments. They handle customs clearance automatically, provide reliable tracking across the border, and offer both ground and express options. USPS also works but customs processing can add 1-3 days to transit time. For high-value miners, UPS or FedEx with declared value coverage is recommended.

Do you charge in USD or CAD?

All D-Central repair invoices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). At typical exchange rates, this works in favor of US customers — CAD amounts convert to roughly 25-30% less in USD. For example, a $300 CAD repair is approximately $220 USD. We accept credit card (your bank handles the conversion), wire transfer, and Bitcoin.

How long does the entire process take from the US?

Total turnaround depends on your location, shipping speed, and repair complexity. For a standard hashboard repair shipped ground from the Eastern US, expect approximately 12-18 business days total. From Texas or the West Coast with ground shipping, 16-25 business days. Express shipping (UPS/FedEx Express) can cut 5-10 days off the total by reducing transit time to 2-3 days each way.

Can I ship multiple miners at once for bulk repair?

Yes. We accept bulk shipments from US mining operations. For 5+ units, contact us to discuss volume pricing, freight logistics, and consolidated customs documentation. Shipping multiple units together often reduces per-unit shipping costs significantly, especially on the cross-border leg.

Is it really cheaper than repairing locally in the US?

In most cases, yes. Very few US repair shops offer genuine chip-level ASIC repair — most swap boards, which is more expensive. D-Central’s component-level approach typically costs $65-$300 CAD ($48-$220 USD) for the repair itself. Even adding $60-$120 for round-trip cross-border shipping, total cost is often less than half the price of a replacement hashboard. Plus, the CAD pricing gives you a built-in exchange rate advantage.
