A curved 6-pin power header connector used on ASIC miner hashboards to deliver DC power from the PSU. This right-angle connector is soldered directly to the hashboard PCB and receives the power cable from the Bitmain APW power supply. Why do 6-pin power connectors fail?

Power connectors carry high current continuously. Over time, loose connections or dust buildup create resistance, which generates heat. This heat damages the connector and surrounding PCB traces. Burnt power connectors are one of the most common ASIC repair issues.

Should I replace the PCB traces too?

If the PCB traces around the connector show burn damage (dark discolouration, lifted pads), simply replacing the connector may not be sufficient.
