Our Story
Canada's original Bitcoin mining hackers. Since 2016, we have been tearing down the walls between institutional Bitcoin mining and the home miner. We build, repair, hack, and ship from Laval, Quebec — because decentralization starts at home.
D-Central Technologies was founded in 2016 in Montreal, Quebec, at a time when Bitcoin mining was rapidly consolidating into the hands of a few massive industrial operations. The founders saw it clearly: the average person was being priced out of mining — locked behind six-figure hardware costs, exclusive supplier contracts, and data center requirements that no individual could meet. That was not how Bitcoin was supposed to work. So they decided to do something about it.
What started as a Bitcoin mining consulting firm quickly evolved. Clients were not just asking for advice — they needed hardware, repairs, custom builds, and real answers for mining at home. D-Central grew from a consulting desk in Montreal to a full-scale operation in Laval, Quebec: a repair lab, a manufacturing floor, a warehouse, and a team of engineers and technicians who live and breathe mining hardware. Every piece of institutional mining tech that crossed their bench was a puzzle to crack — how do we make this work for someone in a basement apartment, a garage, a cabin off-grid?
The mission crystallized: decentralize every layer of Bitcoin mining. Not just the hash rate — the supply chain, the knowledge, the hardware, the repairs. D-Central would not just sell miners. They would build custom units, design heatsinks, manufacture accessories, repair what the industry discards, and put all of it in the hands of individual miners. From the S9 Space Heater to the Bitaxe Mesh Stand, every product carries the same DNA — take what the big players use and hack it for the home miner.
Today, D-Central is recognized as Canada’s leading Bitcoin mining technology company. Over 400 products across 16 categories. Over 2,500 miners repaired. A team of 11-50 specialists spanning engineering, hardware design, customer support, and mining operations — with 3D design and printing capabilities running out of our Laval offices. We offer 24-hour delivery capability, “green only” quality control with up to 60 days warranty on refurbished units, and escrow services for third parties. But the mission has not changed since day one. The mining hacker ethos runs through everything: if it mines, we can hack it. If it is broken, we can fix it. If the industry gatekeeps it, we will open-source it. We are the North.

[COMMITS: CONTINUOUS]

[STATUS: UNSTOPPABLE]
Satoshi designed Bitcoin to be mined by anyone. One CPU, one vote. That was the contract. But the industrialization of mining broke it. When a handful of companies control the hash rate, the network is no longer decentralized — it is a federation with extra steps. Every hash that moves from a data center to a home miner makes Bitcoin stronger, more resilient, more censorship-resistant. That is not ideology. That is network architecture.
We are Bitcoin mining hackers because we refuse to accept the status quo. We take a $5,000 industrial ASIC and turn it into a space heater for a Canadian winter. We take open-source silicon and build stands, heatsinks, and enclosures so anyone can run it on a desk. We repair boards that manufacturers say are e-waste. We write guides so you do not need to pay a consultant. Every product, every repair, every piece of documentation is an act of decentralization.
Home mining is not a hobby. It is infrastructure. Every miner running in a home, a garage, a workshop — that is a node in the most important network in history, and it is generating heat you would have paid for anyway. D-Central exists to arm the individual miner with the same technology, the same knowledge, and the same capability that was once reserved for warehouses full of machines. The revolution does not need permission. It needs hardware.
THE MINING HACKER PRINCIPLES
=============================
01. Mining belongs to the individual.
02. Every hash at home strengthens Bitcoin.
03. Open-source hardware is non-negotiable.
04. Repair is superior to replace.
05. Heat from mining is not waste — it is utility.
06. Gatekeeping knowledge is anti-Bitcoin.
07. If it mines, it can be hacked for home use.
08. Decentralization is not a slogan. It is engineering.
09. The best miner is the one running in your home.
10. We are the North. We do not quit.

We did not just adopt the Bitaxe. We helped build the ecosystem around it.
When the Bitaxe emerged as the first truly open-source Bitcoin ASIC miner, D-Central recognized it immediately for what it was: the future of home mining. A small, silent, efficient miner that anyone could run on a desk — this was everything the mining hacker philosophy stood for. D-Central did not wait on the sidelines. Through our involvement with OSMU (Open Source Miners United), we went all in on open-source mining hardware commercialization.
D-Central was the first company in the world to manufacture the Bitaxe Mesh Stand. When miners needed a way to stack, organize, and cool multiple Bitaxe units, D-Central designed and produced the solution before anyone else. That was not a business decision — it was instinct. The community needed it, so they built it.
But they did not stop there. D-Central developed custom heatsinks for both the Bitaxe and the Bitaxe Hex — precision-engineered thermal solutions designed specifically for open-source mining hardware. These are not off-the-shelf components. They are purpose-built by a team that understands the thermal profiles of ASIC chips at a granular level, manufactured in-house to the tolerances that solo mining hardware demands.
Today, D-Central carries every Bitaxe variant available — from the original models to the latest revisions. Bitaxe Supra, Ultra, Gamma, Hex — if it exists, D-Central stocks it, supports it, and builds accessories for it. When you buy a Bitaxe from D-Central, you are not buying from a reseller. You are buying from the team that helped shape what the Bitaxe ecosystem looks like today. That is the difference between a vendor and a pioneer.
