Fund the Sovereign Stack
We give the code away. You keep it alive.
D-Central builds an open-source sovereignty stack — mining firmware, open hardware, mesh, and local-first tools — and releases it under GPL-3.0 and CERN-OHL-S. No DRM, no locks, no forced login, no phone-home, no nagware. Open isn't free to maintain: research, reverse engineering, hardware testing, technician labour, and public releases cost real money. If our work helps you, help keep it alive.
Why we ask
We’re Bitcoin mining hackers, not a foundation with a grant. Every firmware release, every open-hardware board, every enriched reference page is the output of real research and real technician hours — plus the failed experiments and the token burn behind the ones that shipped. The code stays free whether you contribute or not. Contributions are what let us keep shipping, keep it lock-free, and keep giving it away.
What supporting does
- Funds ongoing development & maintenance of DCENT_OS, DCENT_Toolbox, DCENT_axe, Voice, Torrent, and the mesh work.
- Pays for reverse engineering, hardware validation, and technician debugging on real gear.
- Keeps the whole stack free, open, and lock-free — forever.
What supporting does not do
- It does not buy you extra rights — the licenses already grant everyone the freedom to use, study, modify, and share the work.
- It does not unlock features or gate any covered code behind payment.
- It is not a licence. Commercial use is always free under GPL-3.0 / CERN-OHL-S. Supporting is voluntary.

Commercial Patron
CAD $49.99/mo · or $499.90/yr (2 months free)
For merchants, competitors, repair shops, integrators, consultants, manufacturers, and businesses that commercially benefit from D-Central’s open-source work.
- Everything in Contributor
- Listing in the Commercial Patron directory (opt-in)
- An “Official Patron” badge for your site (revocable trademark use)
- Priority commercial support
If our open-source work helps you sell, repair, integrate, manufacture, consult, or build commercially, become a Commercial Patron. You’re free to use the work under its licence — but if you profit from the commons, help fund the maintainers who keep it alive. This is not a licence: commercial use is always free under GPL-3.0 / CERN-OHL-S. One or two sales we help you make usually covers a full year.
Prefer a one-time contribution?
No subscription, no account. Contribute once — in Bitcoin (on-chain or Lightning) or by card. Bitcoin is the most on-ethos way to support a sovereignty stack, so we lead with it — but card works just as well.

Where every sat goes
Five buckets. Every one of them keeps the stack open and moving.
Firmware & tooling
DCENT_OS, DCENT_Toolbox, and the DCENT_axe firmware — development, testing, and maintenance across real hardware.
Open-hardware R&D
The DCENT_axe board family and its onboard LoRa mesh — design, prototyping, and validation, released open.
Keeping it lock-free
No DRM, no phone-home, no forced login. Staying that way is a choice we fund, not a default.
Public knowledge
The mining reference, glossary, error-code library, and datasets — free, accurate, and open to everyone.
Reverse engineering & validation
Technician hours on the bench: reverse engineering, hardware validation, and debugging that no LLM can do for us.
Contributors and Commercial Patrons get a quarterly briefing showing exactly what moved — the honest version, including what we tried and threw away.
Frequently asked questions
Does contributing give me extra rights to the code?
No. GPL-3.0 and CERN-OHL-S already grant everyone the freedom to use, study, modify, build, and share our work — including commercially. Contributing funds ongoing development and maintenance; it does not add, remove, or unlock any rights. The code is yours to run whether you support us or not.
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
No. D-Central is a company, not a registered charity, so contributions are not charitable donations and are not tax-deductible. We call them contributions and supporter subscriptions for exactly that reason.
Do I have to be a Commercial Patron to use your work in my business?
No. Commercial use is always free under the open-source licenses. The Commercial Patron tier is voluntary, ethical patronage — a way for businesses that profit from the commons to help fund it. It is not a licence and unlocks nothing in the code.
Can I contribute in Bitcoin?
Yes — and we encourage it. One-time contributions can be made on-chain or over Lightning. Recurring supporter subscriptions are card-based today (Bitcoin doesn’t do card-style recurring cleanly yet), but you can fund a full year in Bitcoin any time.
Can I cancel a supporter subscription?
Any time, yourself, in a couple of clicks — no email, no phone call. You’ll get a receipt for every charge and clear renewal reminders. Cancelling stops future charges; it never touches your right to keep using the software.
Is any of this a subscription to unlock features?
Never. We will never gate covered code, degrade non-supporters, add DRM, or make the tools phone home. Supporter perks are recognition, community, and access to our roadmap — never a feature of the open-source software itself.
Where does the money actually go?
Development, hardware R&D, technician bench time, public knowledge infrastructure, and keeping everything lock-free — see “Where every sat goes” above. Contributors and Commercial Patrons receive a quarterly behind-the-scenes report on exactly what moved.
Who is behind this work?
D-Central Technologies — and the giants whose shoulders we stand on. Our firmware learns from BraiinsOS+, VNish, and LuxOS; our hardware descends from Skot’s Bitaxe and the OSMU community; our mesh builds on Meshtastic and LoRa. We credit them on every product page, and your support helps us keep contributing back.
