Sovereign Stack is D-Central's framework for layered self-sufficiency: the combination of Bitcoin (sound money and censorship-resistant payment rails), local AI inference, mesh networking, Nostr (open communications protocol), and energy sovereignty — each layer independently useful, and together exponentially more resilient than any single component.
Why layers matter
Each layer of the Sovereign Stack addresses a distinct attack surface. Bitcoin removes dependence on central banks and payment processors. Local AI inference removes dependence on cloud providers that log queries, revoke API access, or apply content policies to your workflows. Mesh networking creates communication paths that do not route through a single ISP or internet exchange point. Nostr provides a public-key identity and messaging layer that no platform operator can remove. Energy sovereignty eliminates the most exploitable dependency of all: the utility bill.
Stack, not suite
The "stack" framing is deliberate. A node running Bitcoin, a local LLM, and Nostr over a mesh radio link is qualitatively more resilient than any single tool. D-Central's own products — DCENT_OS (closed beta, GPL-3.0), DCENT_axe, and DCENT_Toolbox — are designed to compose into this architecture: one more layer decentralized at each step.
