A Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Pool

DCENT_Pool A Solo Bitcoin Mining Pool and MMORPP (Deploying)

A GPL-3.0-licensed solo Bitcoin mining pool where accepted shares can drive a persistent fictional world. The official realm is still deploying: its node must finish synchronization and the mining path must pass readiness checks before D-Central calls it live. The architecture below is a preview, not an instruction to move primary hashrate today.

Connection preview only: the official node is still synchronizing. Do not make this endpoint your primary pool until the readiness and accepted-share gates pass.

// deployment status

DCENT_Pool is deploying, not mining-ready

The dashboard is public while the official Bitcoin Core node completes initial synchronization. A reachable website or Stratum port is not proof of a current block template. Keep an established fallback pool configured until the realm reports the current chain tip and D-Central verifies a complete subscribe, authorize, job, and accepted-share path.

What is safe to evaluate now

What is an MMORPP?

Read the standalone MMORPP category definition for the exact boundary between real Bitcoin, pool accounting, fiction, current project behavior, and roadmap.

An MMORPP — Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Pool — is a mining pool where the pool itself is the game server. DCENT_Pool started as a creative way to teach Bitcoin mining, and became something bigger: a direct connection between Bitcoin mining and a fictional game world, because the game runs on the mining you were already doing.

There is nothing to buy, mint, or bridge. Difficulty-weighted accepted shares become work your hero spends on movement, construction, scouting, and war. The game uses adopted Bitcoin block height as its canonical clock. Its append-only, block-referenced history is separate from Bitcoin consensus and remains subject to documented recovery, migration, and reorg handling. Solo mining with the community stops feeling like staring at a dashboard alone and starts feeling like a D&D campaign with thousands of players.

// the forgotten field

The Stratum password field, reborn

For over a decade, miners have typed a single meaningless "x" into the Stratum password field, because pools never used it. DCENT_Pool makes it cool again: the password field is your hero's command line. Compatible SHA-256 Stratum miners can use the verified basic path; advanced commands depend on firmware and password-field parsing support.

  • class=berserker — choose your hero class and element
  • move=north / goto=capital — walk the world map, block by block
  • build=watchtower — raise roads, bridges, forts, and guild halls
  • scout=north — lift fog of war for you and your guild
  • attack=local / defend=local — fight monsters, garrison territory
  • battle=3,-2 / reinforce=… — declare war, dispatch supply lines
stratum password → world commands
password: class=paladin,goto=dragon_peak > route plotted: 14 tiles, ETA 9 blocks > shares mint work → work moves the hero password: battle=145,-220 > war declared — resolves at block tick > garrisons and reinforcements decide it password: x > that works too. just mine._
// the living bitcoin world

A persistent world, timed by the blockchain

Every hero, road, battle, boss, and historical event in the world emerges from mining. Nothing is scripted on wall-clock time — the chain is the clock, and the chronicle is auditable down to the block.

⚔️

Workers are Heroes

Every ASIC is a named hero in your party. A Bitaxe on your desk is Sir OfficeMiner; an S21 in the garage is a warlord. Your address is your account — no signup.

🗺️

Fog of War & Exploration

A deterministic world map with terrain, biomes, ruins, and dungeons. Scout to reveal it — discoveries are shared with your guild and remembered forever.

🐉

Monsters & World Bosses

Persistent monsters roam, escalate into named regional threats, and promote into world bosses damageable only by accepted shares. Defeats leave permanent consequences on the map.

🏰

Construction & Territory

Spend mined work to build roads, bridges, watchtowers, and forts. Defend tiles, station garrisons, and watch influence decay by block height if you go idle.

🛡️

Guild Wars & Supply Lines

Declare battles on distant coordinates, dispatch reinforcements along real routes with block-denominated ETAs, and win or lose at the tick — with a verifiable replay proof.

📜

Permanent History

Every event is block-stamped and append-only. Tile chronicles, battle replays, and boss defeats become the world's recorded history. No seasons, no wipes.

// pick your allegiance

One Chain. Two Factions. The Unchained.

The Chain

#F7931A · neutral

The world itself. All hashrate, whatever its banner, defends the Chain. Pool-wide stats wear Bitcoin orange.

The Ledger

#4169E1 · faction

Protocol purists. Consensus, verification, and order. They believe truth is what the rules can prove.

The Forge

#00FF41 · faction

Raw computational power. Hashrate warriors in terminal green. They believe truth is what the work can win.

The Unchained

#F7931A · guildless

Solo miners with no guild and no faction. Pure defenders of truth, loyal to the Chain alone. The default path.

"The Chain is one. The Ledger and The Forge are two halves of the same truth."

Guilds: a new way to mine together

Guilds and factions are not just cosmetics — they are a genuinely new way to mine Bitcoin. Band your workers with other miners under one banner: guilds share scouting discoveries on the map, raise guild halls, run supply lines into each other's battles, and earn guild XP when a member finds a block. Faction allegiance colors the whole war — Ledger against Forge, with the Unchained answering to the Chain alone.

Trustless group rewards — in development

Solo remains the default: find a block, it pays your address. But guilds and factions open a new frontier — opt-in group reward splits enforced the only way we consider trustless: as direct coinbase outputs your firmware can verify before hashing, never a treasury or an IOU. The TIDES-G split engine is proven on regtest and staged behind a hard off-switch until the test-network drill record completes. Guild reward sharing remains in development and will require a completed test-network drill, a published policy, and an explicit production launch before it is described as available.

// underneath the game

A serious solo pool, built in Rust

Strip the game away and DCENT_Pool is a hardened, CKPool-inspired solo mining engine. Find a block, and the reward pays directly to your Bitcoin address in the coinbase transaction — the pool never holds your funds.

  • Solo payouts, zero custody — block rewards go straight to your address
  • Verify before you hash — every active job exposes a signed payout manifest, so firmware can prove the exact coinbase split before submitting a single share
  • Stratum V1 + vardiff — from NerdMiner kilohashes to S21 terahashes, with ASICBoost and optional TLS
  • Transparent 2% fee — a visible coinbase output, verifiable on-chain; configurable to 0 when you self-host
  • 75+ REST endpoints — Prometheus metrics, live SSE updates, and an 18-page React dashboard

// federation roadmap

REALM federation is a roadmap, not a live promise

DCENT_Pool is designed so future self-hosted operators can keep their own Bitcoin node, template construction, payout policy, and miners while linking only signed game-state claims. Federation, Realm Wars, relay behavior, and group reward experiments must remain labelled as development work until public source, repeatable tests, and production evidence exist.

Local authority

The intended self-hosting model keeps Bitcoin Core, templates, accounts, and fee policy with each operator.

Signed links

BIP322-signed snapshot exchange is a design target that will require public protocol documentation and interoperability tests.

Realm Wars

Cross-realm game competition is planned. It is not evidence of shared mining payouts or production federation today.

Relay research

A latency-aware relay mesh remains exploratory and must not be treated as a current stale-work reduction feature.

// source release in progress

Public source and reproducible self-hosting are launch gates

The codebase is licensed GPL-3.0, but the public repository does not yet contain the complete pool, game engine, dashboard, and operator documentation. D-Central will not describe the project as independently auditable or ready to self-host until those files are published and a clean-machine installation reproduces the documented result.

Required for the public release

  • Complete source matching the hosted release
  • Pinned dependencies and license inventory
  • Docker and binary installation paths
  • Bitcoin Core, TLS, backup, and upgrade guidance

Required for reproducibility

  • Fresh testnet or regtest drill
  • Subscribe, authorize, job, and share evidence
  • Fee and coinbase verification fixture
  • Documented rollback and recovery procedure

// questions

DCENT_Pool deployment FAQ

Is DCENT_Pool ready for primary mining traffic?

Not yet. The official realm is being deployed and its Bitcoin Core node must reach the current chain tip before D-Central calls the service ready. Keep a known-good pool configured until the status dashboard shows current work and D-Central has verified an accepted share.

What is an MMORPP?

MMORPP means Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Pool: a mining-pool design in which accepted shares can drive actions in a persistent fictional world. The game layer does not change Bitcoin consensus or the probability of a hash finding a block.

Do I have to play the game to use the pool?

No. The game is an optional layer over share accounting. Once the hosted service is ready, a miner can use a conventional password such as x and ignore the fictional world.

Does the game change Bitcoin payouts?

No. DCENT_Pool is designed as a solo pool: ordinary accepted shares do not create a payout, and only a network-valid block can produce a Bitcoin reward. The intended direct-coinbase payout and fee split remain launch-verification items until live evidence is published.

What mining hardware is DCENT_Pool designed to support?

The protocol target is Stratum V1 hardware across a wide hashrate range, including NerdMiner, Bitaxe, Antminer, and other Bitcoin ASICs. Production compatibility will be claimed only after subscribe, authorize, current-job, and accepted-share tests pass.

What fee is declared for the official realm?

The current deployment configuration declares a 2% hosted fee. D-Central will treat it as a verified production fee only after the live job manifest and coinbase construction can be inspected. A future self-hosted release is intended to make the fee operator-configurable.

Can I self-host DCENT_Pool today?

The codebase is GPL-3.0 licensed, but the public repository does not yet contain the complete source and operator documentation. Public source, a reproducible installation path, and a tested release are launch gates. Do not rely on clone or deployment instructions until those files are published.

Why is D-Central building DCENT_Pool?

The project combines solo Bitcoin mining education, operator-controlled infrastructure, and a persistent fictional world. Its purpose is to make proof of work easier to understand without presenting game activity as money, tokens, or improved mining odds.
