Bitmain Antminer DR3 EOS and efficiency-conflict reference

Official DR3 operands: 7.8 TH/s ±2% and 1,410 W ±7%; the printed 80.73 J/TH conflicts with 180.77 J/TH arithmetic, so canonical efficiency is withheld. EOS May 9, 2020.

Hashrate 7.8 TH/s
Power 1,410 W
Efficiency 180.77 J/TH

Quick answer

The Bitmain Antminer DR3 EOS and efficiency-conflict reference is a Blake256r14 miner rated about 7.8 TH/s at roughly 1,410 W.

Evidence-controlled DR3 reference: Bitmain’s algorithm map associates DR3 with DCR/Decred and HC under the printed algorithm label Blake_256. Do not project DR7’s later algorithm/coin wording onto this model.

Hashrate Power OEM efficiency field Transparent arithmetic
7.8 TH/s ±2% 1,410 W ±7% 80.73 J/TH ±7% 1,410 ÷ 7.8 ≈ 180.77 J/TH

Official-source conflict: the OEM efficiency field and direct power/hashrate arithmetic materially disagree. Both are shown, but neither is selected as a normalized canonical efficiency. Efficiency must be withheld from metadata and structured data.

Electrical and physical boundary

The miner input is 11.6–13 V DC through ten PCIe connectors. Bitmain’s roster supports APW3, APW5, and APW7. This is device-side DC, not a facility-mains specification. A qualified person must verify the exact installed PSU nameplate, mains circuit, protection, conductors, connectors, grounding, and disconnect before energizing.

Lifecycle and current-use boundary

Bitmain’s current master EOS register gives DR3 an end-of-service date of May 9, 2020. An older Bitmain notification says maintenance stopped May 10, 2020. The newer master register controls this reference; the one-day source discrepancy is retained rather than silently erased. Documentation and product consulting may remain available after maintenance EOS, but they do not establish active hardware support.

Bitmain’s algorithm roster, last updated September 2, 2024, associates DR3 with DCR and HC. That is an evidence-dated manufacturer association, not verification of current network compatibility, coins, economics, or residential suitability.

Firmware, diagnostics, and repair

No architecture, tuning, current economics, residential, heat-use, parts-interchangeability, or cross-generation claim is asserted. Sources: DR3 specification, current master EOS register, older EOS notification, algorithm map, PSU roster, and fan table. Reviewed August 29, 2026.
