About D-Central Technologies
The Mining Hackers of Laval
We take institutional-grade Bitcoin mining technology and hack it for the home miner. Founded in 2016. Based in Laval, Quebec. Shipping worldwide. Decentralization of every layer of Bitcoin mining.
The Origin
D-Central Technologies was founded in 2016 in Laval, Quebec. D-Central’s founder watched Bitcoin mining consolidate into warehouses and industrial data centers — six-figure hardware costs, exclusive supplier contracts, megawatt power requirements. The average person was being locked out of the network Satoshi designed for everyone. That was unacceptable.
The mission was born: decentralize every layer of Bitcoin mining. Not just the hash rate — the supply chain, the knowledge, the hardware, the repairs. Take everything the industrial players hoard and put it in the hands of individuals. Build, repair, modify, and teach — so no one needs to ask an institution for permission to mine.
What started as a consulting desk grew into something bigger. Clients did not just need advice — they needed hardware they could actually run at home, repairs that manufacturers refused to do, and custom builds that did not exist anywhere else. D-Central grew into a real operation: a repair lab, a manufacturing floor, a warehouse, and a small team of passionate Bitcoin mining hackers who live and breathe this hardware. We are not the fastest, and we are not Amazon — we are the people who hack institutional gear into something a home miner can actually own.
Decentralization at Every Layer
This is not just about selling hardware. When a handful of companies control the hash rate, Bitcoin is not decentralized — it is a federation with extra steps. Every miner running in a home, a garage, a workshop moves hash rate away from data centers and back to individuals. That is not ideology. That is network architecture.
Resilience needs backups. Bitcoin is the backup to fiat finance, and a distributed hash rate is the backup that keeps Bitcoin itself sovereign. D-Central exists to help distribute that hash rate. We build the hardware, repair what breaks, publish the knowledge, and contribute open-source tools — led by DCENT_OS — so individuals can mine on their own terms. Every Space Heater warming a Canadian home, every Bitaxe grinding hashes on a desk, every repaired S19 that was headed for a landfill — that is decentralization in action.
We are the North. Cold climate. Cheap hydro. Built for mining. Shipping worldwide from Laval, Quebec since 2016.
THE MINING HACKER PRINCIPLESn=============================nn01. Mining belongs to the individual.n02. Every hash at home strengthens Bitcoin.n03. Open-source hardware is non-negotiable.n04. Repair is superior to replace.n05. Heat from mining is not waste — it is utility.n06. Gatekeeping knowledge is anti-Bitcoin.n07. If it mines, it can be hacked for home use.n08. Decentralization is not a slogan. It is engineering.n09. The best miner is the one running in your home.n10. We are the North. We do not quit.nn[SIGNATURE: VERIFIED]n[BLOCK HEIGHT: LATEST]n[NONCE: KEEP GRINDING]
Four things we do that almost nobody else does together
We are not Amazon, and we do not try to be. D-Central is a small, hands-on Bitcoin mining shop in Laval, Québec. What we are good at is a handful of things the big marketplaces and overseas resellers leave on the table — and we do them under one roof.
We give old miners a second life
Refurbished Antminers, properly tested and backed by our own warranty — second-life hardware that keeps machines out of landfill and keeps hashrate decentralized. Start with the refurbished Antminer guide or browse refurbished miners in the shop.
We turn miners into home heat
Every watt a miner draws becomes heat — so we build space-heater editions that warm a room and stack sats at the same time. See the Bitcoin mining heaters guide and the full waste-heat applications library.
We repair what others throw away
A real in-house ASIC repair bench — hashboards, control boards, PSUs — not a returns label into a void. It is the same bench that builds our refurbished units. Get a repair quote.
We are opening up the firmware
DCENT_OS is our open-source (GPL-3.0) firmware effort, built on the shoulders of BraiinsOS+, VNish and LuxOS, made to bring industrial miners home with a 0%-by-default dev fee. It is in closed beta — public beta is planned for summer 2026. Read the story on the DCENT_OS page and explore the open-source miner line.
Refurbish, heat, repair, open up. None of these is unique on its own — doing all four, in Canada, hand-built to order, is the part that is hard to copy.
Became an early Bitaxe adopter and was among the first to manufacture the original Bitaxe Mesh Stand, building on the open-source community's work.
Expansion de la gamme minière open-source : NerdAxe, Nerdminer, NerdQAxe et accessoires sur mesure pour la communauté maker.
Launched the ASIC Miner Database with 550+ miners, live profitability calculations, and head-to-head comparison tools.
Écosystème complet — matériel minier, solutions de chauffage, services de réparation et ressources éducatives sous un même toit.
Built the Mining Knowledge Base: glossary of 100+ terms, 650+ ASIC error codes with troubleshooting guides, and interactive comparison tools.

Why Trust D-Central
We do not ask you to take our word for it. Here is the hardware, the history, and the infrastructure behind the operation — built since 2016, all of it real, all of it ours.
Real Facilities, Real Capabilities
A Pioneer in the Open-Source Mining Ecosystem
- Among the first to manufacture the original Bitaxe Mesh Stand, building on the open-source work of the Bitaxe community.
- Pioneered Bitcoin Space Heaters: dual-purpose miners engineered from industrial ASICs to heat a home while earning sats.
- Developed leading Bitaxe accessories — custom heatsinks for Bitaxe and Bitaxe Hex, cases, and stands.
- Built the ASIC Miner Database — 550+ miners with live profitability data and head-to-head comparison tools.
- Operating retail-focused ASIC repair since 2017 — knowledge published openly, not locked behind service contracts.
