Canaan AvalonMiner 841 legacy identity and software reference
Evidence-limited AvalonMiner 841 identity and exact Avalon 8 software-lineage reference with unsupported performance and installation fields withheld.
Resolve legacy modular Avalon identities
Exact-name boundary: these are separate named models. Do not carry firmware, recovery, control-board, power, noise, or parts assumptions from one model or suffix to another.

Evidence-limited manufacturer identity: Canaan’s official Avalon 8 cgminer driver and legacy controller-image build system establish the AvalonMiner 841 model/software generation. These software sources do not provide a complete miner specification or accessory matrix.
Withheld performance and installation fields
The currently circulated 13.6 TH/s, 1,290 W, and 94.9 J/TH values are withheld pending an exact primary Canaan specification record. They are named only to prevent their reuse as verified specifications. Hashrate and power tolerances, miner input voltage and frequency, PSU requirements, cooling configuration, operating limits, sound, dimensions, and weight are also unresolved.
Do not use this page to size power, protection, wiring, connectors, cooling, or space. A qualified person must inspect the exact miner, controller, interface, and PSU labels and confirm their revisions and local requirements before installation.
Exact-generation firmware and controller boundary
The official code establishes an Avalon 8 software path. Canaan’s build script lists Avalon 8 alongside multiple controller-board targets, but it does not establish that every image, target board, controller, interface, cable, PSU, Avalon 8 variant, or later component is interchangeable with an 841. Match the complete hardware chain and explicit package documentation.
- Record the model, module and controller labels, interface, PSU label, and installed software.
- Use Canaan’s current exact-model picker only if it explicitly lists the unit and package.
- Follow Canaan’s download guidance and upgrade guidance; do not substitute an 821, low-power, Avalon 7, or Avalon 9 image.
- For hardware faults, request model-specific ASIC repair diagnosis.
Known boundaries: no verified performance matrix, ASIC model/count, bundled controller, accessory requirement, cross-model compatibility, tuning, economics, home-suitability, price, release date, or lifecycle status is asserted.
