Description
Pre-assembled Bitaxe Gamma 601 PCB (DIY Kit – No BM1370 ASIC)
Join the decentralized mining revolution with the Bitaxe Gamma 601 PCB. This circuit board comes fully pre-assembled, with the exception of the BM1370 ASIC chip. Designed for makers and technicians, it offers the perfect foundation to build your own ultra-efficient mini-miner based on the Antminer S21 Pro chip. Plug it in, connect to Wi-Fi, and take full control of your hashrate!
The Bitaxe Ethos: Open-Source Bitcoin Mining at Home
Just like the Bitcoin protocol, the Bitaxe project is fully open-source, which is the best way to ensure network decentralization. The project’s goal is to provide a standalone, quiet, and low-power miner that anyone can run at home. Thanks to its onboard controller, the Bitaxe mines directly over Wi-Fi without needing to be connected to an external computer. You are free to mine on any Stratum pool of your choice and easily configure everything via the AxeOS dashboard.
The Power of the Gamma Revision
The Bitaxe Gamma 601 represents the 5th major revision of the Bitaxe family. This PCB has been redesigned to accommodate the BM1370 chip, the latest generation of ASIC that powers Bitmain’s mighty Antminer S21 Pro. Once you have grafted the chip onto it, this desktop miner is capable of delivering an impressive hashrate of around 1.2 TH/s. All this while maintaining a killer energy efficiency close to 15 J/TH.
A Kit Designed for Tinkerers (DIY)
This product is the ideal springboard for your next electronics project:
- A solid foundation: All surface-mount components (ESP32 microcontroller, resistors, voltage regulators) are already factory-soldered on this high-quality 4-layer PCB.
- The final challenge: The board is sold without the BM1370 ASIC chip. It is up to you to source this chip (currently salvageable directly from S21 Pro boards) and perform the final soldering.
Technical Specifications (Once completed)
- ASIC Slot: Designed exclusively for the Bitmain BM1370 chip.
- Target Performance: ~1.2 TH/s at an efficiency of ~15 J/TH.
- Microcontroller: Onboard ESP32 for Wi-Fi management and USB-C programming.
- Expandability: Supports the addition of a 0.91″ I2C OLED display (SSD1306) for metrics display.
What you will need to finalize your Bitaxe Gamma:
- The BM1370 ASIC chip.
- A strict 5V DC power supply: The Gamma requires over 4A (20W) to operate correctly without voltage drops. Using a 30W power supply (like the excellent Meanwell GST60A05-P1J) with a 5.5×2.1mm center-positive barrel plug is highly recommended. Warning: using a voltage other than 5V will permanently damage the board!
- A 5V active cooling system: Since the chip emits more heat, a heatsink (40x40mm) paired with a high-quality 5V PWM fan (like the Noctua NF-A4x10 5V) and good thermal paste (like Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut) are absolutely mandatory.
(Warning: This board is for advanced users. The Gamma consumes more power than previous revisions; it is imperative to carefully monitor the hash frequency and voltage settings to avoid overheating the component.)
