Historical manufacturer record: the manufacturer’s 2020 company history identifies M1/M3 as its first product generation, launched in 2017, and states that 300,000 M3 units were sold in 2018.

This establishes the M3 product name and generation, not an exact production specification. The attached primary source does not publish hashrate, wall power, efficiency, voltage, noise, dimensions, weight, PSU, chip count, board platform, price, or a precise model release date. Former values for those fields have been withdrawn.

Evidence state

  • Exact product name: WhatsMiner M3.
  • Historical generation: first-generation M1/M3 product.
  • Manufacturer history: launched as a generation in 2017; reported M3 sales in 2018.
  • Exact model specifications: not established by the attached source.

Current legacy firmware evidence

The current manufacturer download center retains an exact M3 legacy upgrade entry scoped to M3/M2/M1 with an H3 control board and an old-tool requirement, plus a separate H3 SD-card entry stated for M3 only. This establishes a narrow legacy lane, not that every unit labelled M3 has H3, not universal board compatibility, and not eligibility for a newer grouped M3x file.

Firmware and recovery

Record the complete displayed miner type exactly as returned, raw platform, installed version, cooling class, and symptom. “M3,” “M3X,” and catalog shorthand such as “M3x” are not interchangeable recovery identities. If any record is missing or conflicts, do not select a package.
