Description

Boost Your Hashrate with the Bitaxe GT 801 (Gamma Turbo)

Solo Bitcoin mining has never been more accessible and powerful. Designed for open-source hardware purists, makers, and solo miners, this **Bitaxe GT 801 PCB Board** offers optimal heat dissipation and precision routing thanks to its 6-layer design. Powered by an ESP32 microcontroller, it is ready to harness the power of two Antminer S21 PRO series chips to reach an impressive estimated hashrate of 2.0 to 2.5 TH/s.

The Dual ASIC Advantage and Open-Source Spirit

By doubling the chip count compared to standard Gamma models, the GT 801 (Gamma Turbo) maximizes your odds of finding a block in the solo mining “lottery,” all while maintaining an ultra-compact footprint. This project proudly embraces the Open-Source Hardware (OSHW) philosophy. By assembling or running this board, you actively contribute to the decentralization of the Bitcoin network while learning the inner workings of cutting-edge mining hardware.

Select your base configuration

Whether you are a soldering expert or looking for a plug-and-play solution to integrate, choose the configuration that matches your hardware assembly skills:

  • Standard PCB (No chips): The board ships with the microcontroller and all peripheral SMD components already factory-soldered. You only need to supply and solder your own 2 BM1370 chips. A perfect foundation for technicians proficient in SMD placement, solder paste application, and hotplate micro-soldering.
  • Full Assembled PCB: The 2 BM1370 ASIC chips and all other components are factory-soldered and rigorously bench-tested. The board is fully functional and ready to be mounted in your setup. It also fits perfectly into custom 3D-printed enclosures (PLA or PETG) designed by the community.

Hardware Prerequisites (Cooling and Power)

⚠️ Critical Warning: This product is sold barebone (board only). Operating it without the proper equipment will result in immediate and irreversible hardware damage.

  • Power: The Bitaxe GT steps away from 5V to require a stable 12V power supply via an XT30 connector. Ensure your power supply can deliver a minimum of 43W to 50W to safely handle the load of both chips, especially if you plan to tweak frequencies and voltages (overclocking).
  • Cooling: ASICs generate extreme heat very rapidly. You must install a high-quality heatsink with proper thermal paste, paired with a high-performance fan (60mm recommended, e.g., Noctua). Never power up the board without active cooling.

Technical Specifications

  • Model: Bitaxe GT 801 (Gamma Turbo)
  • ASIC Architecture: Support for 2x BM1370 ASICs (Antminer S21 PRO Series)
  • Estimated Hashrate: 2.0 to 2.5 TH/s (depending on cooling quality and power tuning)

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are the cooling system or power supply included?
No. This product only includes the PCB Board. You must source and provide your own thermal dissipation solution (heatsink + fan) and a 12V power supply with an XT30 connector.

2. What firmware should I use with this board?
The Bitaxe GT 801 is designed to run on AxeOS. Supported by a highly active community, this open-source firmware allows you to configure your WiFi network and your solo (or public) mining pool directly from any web browser, with no extra software required.

3. Is it difficult to solder the chips on the “Standard PCB” version?
Yes. Even though the board comes with all the small SMD components already installed, soldering the remaining two BM1370 ASIC chips requires specialized equipment (hot air station, hotplate, high-quality flux) and excellent BGA/QFN soldering skills. If you are not familiar with these techniques, the Full Assembled PCB version is strongly recommended to avoid damaging the components.
