Self-custodied Bitcoin on your own node is money no third party can freeze, debase or surveil.

• You self-custody your Bitcoin in your own wallet (not left on an exchange).
• You run your own Bitcoin full node (Umbrel, Start9 or Bitcoin Core).
• You keep long-term savings in cold storage / on a hardware wallet.
• You have a path to acquire BTC without giving up custody (mining or peer-to-peer).

Running open-weight models on your own hardware keeps your prompts, data and capability independent of any cloud provider or jurisdiction.

• You have run at least one LLM locally (Ollama, llama.cpp or LM Studio).
• You own hardware capable of local AI inference (a capable GPU or machine).
• You have moved at least one task off a cloud AI service to a local model.
• You use open-weight models (Llama, Mistral, Qwen) rather than only closed APIs.

An off-grid mesh radio lets you communicate over kilometres with no cellular, internet or licensed spectrum.

• You own an off-grid comms device (a Meshtastic / LoRa radio).
• You could send a message if the internet and cellular networks went down.
• You use an encrypted, censorship-resistant messenger for sensitive messages.

Holding your own cryptographic keys means your identity and audience cannot be deplatformed by any single company.

• You control your own cryptographic identity keys (a Nostr npub or PGP key).
• You can publish on a protocol you cannot be deplatformed from (such as Nostr).
• Your critical logins do not all depend on a single Big-Tech account.

On-site generation, productive heat reuse and backup power make your stack resilient to grid and supply shocks.

• You have some on-site power generation (solar or other).
• You productively reuse waste heat (for example, heating a space with a miner).
• You have backup power for your critical infrastructure.
• Some of your electrical load is flexible / can shed on demand.
