Un relais Nostr est un serveur public auquel vous vous connectez en wss:// pour publier et lire des événements ; la résistance à la censure de Nostr vient du fait que les clients parlent à DE NOMBREUX relais indépendants, si bien qu'aucun opérateur ne peut vous réduire au silence. Ce répertoire recense 25 relais publics notables et établis selon leur modèle d'accès (17 gratuits, 7 payants/anti-spam), leur orientation et le logiciel de relais qu'ils exécutent — la question pratique de « quels relais dois-je ajouter à mon client, et pourquoi ».

Il n'y a pas de relais « officiel » unique — la résilience vient de la répartition de vos lectures et écritures sur plusieurs. Ajoutez 2 à 4 relais gratuits généraux (p. ex. Damus, nos.lol), un relais de recherche pour la découverte, un relais de profil/outbox pour que les autres vous trouvent, et — si le spam pose problème — un relais payant ou à toile de confiance dont le péage écarte les bots.
