This guide outlines the precautions for using ANTMINERs and PSUs, applicable to all models. Proper handling ensures optimum performance and prolongs the life of your mining equipment.
ANTMINER Do’s
- Inspect the miner for aesthetic damage or loose heat sinks upon delivery. If damages or loose heat sinks are found, contact us immediately.
- Install the miner in a dust-free environment with free air circulation.
- Discharge static electricity or wear anti-static PPE during installation or maintenance of the miner.
- Unplug the miner when installing or maintaining it to prevent control board damage.
- Use a power source with an output that exceeds the miner’s power requirement by 20% for optimal performance.
- Correctly connect the positive and negative D/C power 6-pin connectors ports from the PSU to the miner’s control board and hash boards.
- Use only one PSU for each miner. Although multiple PSUs can power a miner, a single PSU should only power one hash board.
- Power the hash boards first, followed by the control board. If only one PSU powers the miner, you can power it once the boards are connected.
- Ensure the miner is grounded/earthed properly.
- Install lightning protection to safeguard equipment against damage from lightning strikes.
- Connect ANTMINERs via Ethernet cable as they do not support WiFi connections.
- Monitor your internet connection and restart the miner if the connection is disrupted for more than 15 minutes.
- Be mindful of data usage, as a miner consumes approximately 500 MB of internet connection per month.
- Use supported browsers like Google Chrome and Firefox for better compatibility.
- Clean and dust the miner periodically to maintain optimal performance.
ANTMINER Don’ts
- Do not use the miner in an enclosed or confined space that restricts air flow.
- Avoid environments with high humidity, condensation, and high salt content, as these conditions can damage the hash board.
- Keep the working environment temperature between 5 and 35 degrees Celsius to prevent low hashrate or malfunction issues.
- Refrain from using water curtains in dusty environments, as water vapor can corrode the hash boards.
- Never use PoE function switches or routers, as they can cause control board damage.
PSU Do’s
- Acquire a compatible power cord that meets local standards (APW series uses C13 cord).
- Ensure the local voltage and power outlets are compatible with the PSU and miner’s requirements.
- Verify the PSU is in good condition and has not suffered any damages during shipping.
- Properly ground/earth the PSU.
- Install lightning protection to safeguard equipment against damage from lightning strikes.
- Position the PSU in a dust-free environment with unobstructed air circulation.
- Operate the PSU at no more than 90% of its rated power capacity to prolong its lifespan.
- Keep the PSU temperature below 50 degrees Celsius.
- Connect the positive and negative ports of D/C power 6-pin connectors from the PSU to the miner’s control board and hash boards correctly.
- Tighten the power cables at the PSU terminal.
PSU Don’ts
- Do not plug or unplug power connectors while the PSU is powered on, as it can cause DC output terminal damage and fire hazards.
- Avoid placing the PSU in enclosed or confined spaces that restrict air flow.
- Do not use the PSU in environments with high humidity, condensation, and high salt content.
- Never attempt to power a damaged PSU.
- Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the PSU yourself. Contact us if you encounter any issues.
