Description

Your most expensive appliance is already your electric heater. The Antminer S19 Space Heater Edition replaces it with a machine that does double duty: ~95 TH/s of SHA-256 hash rate at full power, or a quiet ~50-70 TH/s undervolted for living spaces — while pushing up to 11,090 BTU/hr of heat into your room. Every watt you spend on heat now mines Bitcoin. Built by hand in our Quebec workshop, this is D-Central’s flagship space heater and our best-seller since we pioneered the concept.

We start with a Bitmain Antminer S19 series (BM1398 chips), strip it down, replace stock fans with quiet 120 mm units, install custom firmware (BraiinsOS+ or Vnish), and house everything in our custom silent enclosure. The result is a Bitcoin space heater that runs on standard 120V or full-power 240V, produces real SHA-256 hash rate pointed at any pool you choose, and heats a medium to large room as effectively as a traditional electric heater — because the physics are identical. A watt is a watt. Ours just mines Bitcoin on the way to becoming heat.

Dual-Voltage: One Heater, Two Modes

Plug into a standard 120V outlet and you get the quiet, undervolted profile: ~50–70 TH/s at ~1,500–2,400W with a lower acoustic footprint. Move to a 240V circuit and unlock the full ~95 TH/s at ~3,250W — maximum hash rate, maximum heat output, maximum Bitcoin per kilowatt-hour. The firmware handles the transition. You choose your power profile based on your circuit, your room, and your priorities.

120V mode is purpose-built for standard North American residential circuits. Stay at or below 1,200W on a single 15A circuit. 240V mode unleashes the full platform. Either way, the heat is real, the Bitcoin is real, and the electricity bill is the same as running a traditional space heater at the same wattage — except now you are mining. See our electrical requirements guide for circuit planning.

Silent Enclosure & Cooling

Stock Antminers are industrial machines. They sound like it. We strip the factory fans and replace them with premium residential-grade cooling: Arctic P12 Max fans for energy-efficient setups (800–1,200W) or Noctua iPPC 3000 fans for heavier workloads (1,200W+). Both options keep noise in the 45–55 dB range — comparable to a window air conditioner, not a jet engine.

Our custom enclosure is designed to eliminate heat trapping, direct airflow efficiently, and maintain a compact footprint that fits on a shelf, beside a desk, or against a wall. This is not a bare miner sitting on a milk crate. This is a purpose-built home appliance designed to live in your space.

Firmware: Full Control Over Your Hash Rate

Every unit ships with BraiinsOS+ or Vnish — your choice. Both give you granular control over power limits, fan curves, and per-chain tuning. Undervolt for silence. Overclock for maximum hash rate. Set it and walk away — the firmware’s autotune and watchdog systems keep the miner stable, and you can monitor everything from a web dashboard on your local network.

Compatible with Home Assistant for smart home integration. Wire it to a thermostat profile: mine harder when the room is cold, throttle back when it is warm. Your space heater just became the smartest appliance in your house. Check our assembly and setup guide to get started.

The Physics: Why Mining Heaters Make Sense

A 1,500W electric space heater converts 1,500W of electricity into 1,500W of heat. A 1,500W Bitcoin miner converts 1,500W of electricity into 1,500W of heat and Bitcoin. The thermodynamics are identical — the first law says energy is conserved. The only difference is that one machine produces hash rate on the way to becoming heat. Your heating bill stays the same. Your sats stack up. Read the full 5-year cost comparison vs. a traditional electric heater.

In a Canadian winter — six or seven months where you need heat — this is not a novelty. It is an engineering decision. You are already spending that electricity. The question is whether you want it to do one job or two. Use our BTU calculator to size it for your room.

Frequently Asked Questions

How loud is the Antminer S19 Space Heater Edition?

45–55 dB depending on your power profile and fan choice. For reference, a normal conversation is about 60 dB. On the Arctic P12 Max fans at 1,200W or below, most people describe it as a steady low hum — noticeable if the room is silent, easy to ignore with any background noise. The Noctua iPPC 3000 fans handle higher wattages while staying in the same range. It is not silent, but it is far from the 75+ dB industrial roar of a stock Antminer.

Can I run this on a standard 120V household outlet?

Yes. On 120V, the unit runs in undervolted mode at ~1,500–2,400W (depending on your firmware profile). Stay at or below 1,200W per unit on a standard 15A / 120V circuit to maintain safe continuous load. If you want the full ~3,250W and ~95 TH/s, you need a 240V circuit — the same kind used by electric dryers and ovens. See our electrical requirements guide for details.

How much Bitcoin will this mine?

At ~50–70 TH/s (undervolted 120V mode), the S19 Space Heater produces a steady stream of sats when pointed at a pool. The exact amount depends on network difficulty, pool fees, and your power profile. At ~95 TH/s (240V full power), output increases proportionally. Use a mining calculator with your local electricity rate to estimate daily sats. Remember: if you are already paying for electric heat, the effective mining cost is the electricity you would have spent on heating anyway — your marginal mining cost approaches zero during heating season.

How much heat does it produce? Will it actually warm my room?

At full power (240V, ~3,250W), this unit outputs ~11,090 BTU/hr — more than most consumer space heaters on the market. At undervolted 120V, ~5,100–8,190 BTU/hr depending on your profile. For context, a typical 1,500W portable space heater produces ~5,120 BTU/hr. This is real heat, governed by physics: every watt of electricity consumed becomes a watt of heat. Check our BTU calculator to size it for your space.

Is this a new or refurbished unit?

Refurbished. We source Antminer S19 units, open them up, clean every heatsink and channel, inspect all connectors and harnesses, replace thermal paste and pads where needed, swap fans, install custom firmware, and run a full 24-hour soak test under load before it ships. Every unit must hit hash rate, thermal, and acoustic targets. You receive a machine that is clean, stable, and built for home use.

What is the difference between BraiinsOS+ and Vnish?

Both are aftermarket firmware options that give you per-chain power control, autotune, fan curve management, and web-based monitoring. BraiinsOS+ is open-source and integrates tightly with Braiins Pool (formerly Slush Pool). Vnish offers a polished dashboard and strong autotuning algorithms. Both work well for space heater duty. We pre-install whichever is best suited to your chosen variant, or you can request a specific firmware at checkout.

Can I use this with Home Assistant or a smart thermostat?

Yes. Both BraiinsOS+ and Vnish expose local APIs that Home Assistant can read. You can build automations that increase power when room temperature drops and throttle back when it is warm — essentially turning your Bitcoin miner into a programmable thermostat. We have customers running exactly this setup through Canadian winters.

What happens in summer when I do not need heating?

You have options. Shut it down and store it — it is just an appliance. Move it to a garage, basement, or utility space with ventilation and keep mining year-round. Reduce it to minimum power for modest hash rate with minimal heat. Or vent the exhaust outdoors. Some customers run them in workshops or outbuildings during warm months. The dual-purpose advantage is strongest during heating season, but the miner works year-round wherever you can manage the heat.

What warranty does this come with?

90-day warranty on D-Central’s conversion and tuning work. If anything goes wrong with the fan swap, enclosure, firmware configuration, or power supply modification within 90 days, we handle it with priority repairs. Keep the security seals intact. If you need ASIC repair after the warranty period, we are still here — we have repaired over 2,500 miners in our Quebec workshop.

How does this compare to buying a regular Antminer S19 and converting it myself?

You can absolutely DIY it — we even sell the Slim Edition and Loki Edition for builders who want different form factors. The Space Heater Edition saves you the time and risk of sourcing quiet fans, designing a proper enclosure, flashing firmware, and running a soak test. Every unit we ship has been tested for 24 hours under load. If you value your time or want a plug-and-play experience, this is it.

Why D-Central

We have been building Bitcoin space heaters since before the term was mainstream. D-Central Technologies has operated out of Laval, Quebec since 2016 — repairing, modifying, and building mining hardware for home miners across Canada and worldwide. We are not a reseller dropping Shenzhen boxes with a logo sticker. Every Space Heater Edition is built, tested, and tuned by hand in our workshop.

When something breaks, we fix it. Our ASIC repair lab has serviced thousands of miners — we know these machines down to the solder joints. When you need advice, our support team mines Bitcoin too. This is what we do.

Every hash counts. Yours should count toward heating your home and decentralizing the Bitcoin network — not padding an industrial pool’s bottom line. Start mining. Start heating. Explore the full Space Heater lineup.
