Description

Antminer S19 intake filter that covers both 120 mm fans on one frame

This Antminer S19 intake filter is a single stadium-shaped frame that spans both 120 mm intake fans of an S19 or a standard S21 and holds one rectangular pad of filter media across the pair. One part, one pad, one service job — instead of trying to make two round rings share a fan panel that has no room for them.

That is the geometry problem this part was drawn to solve. A single-fan 120 mm filter ring is around 127.8 mm across its rim, and the two intake fans on these machines sit at a 120.0 mm pitch. Two circular rims would need to overlap by 7.8 mm to fit, which is a polite way of saying they do not. The stadium rim, 240.8 × 127.8 mm, closes that gap in one piece.

What it buys is what a filter always buys: dust that would otherwise pack into the hashboard fins stops on a pad at the front of the machine, where shaking it off takes less time than finding a screwdriver.

What it fits

  • Antminer S19 series dual 120 mm intake fan panels
  • Antminer S21 standard, dual 120 mm
  • Any dual 120 mm fan face at 120.0 mm fan pitch with the 105 mm screw pattern
  • Shares its bolt pattern with the dual-120 shroud family to within 0.017 mm, so it lives on the same machines those shrouds do

The eight mounting holes carry a 0.7 mm X-slot, which lets the frame drop onto either of the two screw patterns found on these panels — 105.0 / 120.0 mm and 105.4 / 121.0 mm — without fighting the machine. A 9 mm access hole sits above each screw so a driver reaches all eight through the frame.

S21 Pro and XP machines run 140 mm fans; those want the 140 mm Intake Filter Ring. A single isolated 120 mm fan face takes the 120 mm Intake Filter Ring.

How it is used

  1. Cut one rectangular pad of filter media to the stadium rim, 240.8 × 127.8 mm. Media is not supplied.
  2. Seat the pad in the frame.
  3. Offer the frame up to the intake face and drive all eight screws through the access holes.
  4. Service by pulling the pad out and washing or replacing it — the frame stays mounted.
  5. Set the interval from what the pad looks like after a week and a month in your room.

Why one frame instead of two rings

Beyond the fact that two rings will not physically fit, a single span is the better part on a twin-fan face: one continuous rim leaves no seam down the middle of the intake for unfiltered air to slip through, and one rectangular pad is quicker to cut and quicker to swap than two discs.

The frame is PETG, and what that buys here is mechanical rather than exotic. The part has to hold a loaded 240.8 mm pad flat under suction for months without bowing into the grille, and keep eight screw holes in register while it does it. That is a stiffness job on a warm front panel, and it is the one PETG is good at — where PLA would let the rim relax and the pad sag.

The driver-access holes are the detail that gets missed on parts like this: a frame covering the fan screws turns every future fan swap into a filter-removal job first, so a 9 mm hole sits above each screw. The grille supporting the media occupies 18.6 percent of the frame aperture, the balance left as clear opening.

  • Covers both 120 mm intake fans with one frame — the span two round rings cannot achieve at 120.0 mm pitch
  • Takes one rectangular pad instead of two discs, cut from any media you like
  • Keeps a driver on all eight fan screws through 9 mm access holes
  • Fits either published screw pattern via a 0.7 mm X-slot at each hole
  • Matches the dual-120 shroud family bolt pattern to within 0.017 mm
  • Single-piece PETG — stiff enough to keep a loaded pad flat across the full 240.8 mm span

This frame is D-Central Technologies’ own drawing — we worked out the stadium rim around the S19 and S21 intake face, solved the 7.8 mm overlap two round rings could not, and open-sourced the answer under CC BY-SA 4.0 at the 3D models download center. Its card is at the dual 120 mm filter ring entry. Print it, widen the slots for a panel outside this list, put it on your own storefront — the licence allows all of it.

Grab the dual-120 filter ring bundle and you have the STL, the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence and the installation and safety guide. Giving the geometry away is how a part like this stops being a bottleneck for everyone who owns these machines.

The listing itself is for the finished frame: made to order in PETG — black or orange — and shipped from Montreal, Quebec, with the media left to you so you can match it to your air. The file is free and stays free; ordering the frame, or backing us at D-Central’s fund page, is what pays for the next intake geometry we solve.

Frequently asked questions

Why not just use two single 120 mm filter rings?

They will not fit. A single-fan ring measures about 127.8 mm across the rim and the two intake fans sit at 120.0 mm centres, so the rims would have to overlap by 7.8 mm. This frame spans both fans in one stadium rim instead. On a machine with one isolated 120 mm fan, the 120 mm Intake Filter Ring is the right part.

Is filter media included?

No — the frame holds the media and you supply it. Cut one rectangular pad to the 240.8 × 127.8 mm stadium rim from whatever you prefer: open-cell foam that washes, or furnace filter sheet that gets replaced. Keeping the consumable generic means you buy it locally and match it to your own air.

Which machines does it fit?

Dual 120 mm intake faces at 120.0 mm fan pitch on the 105 mm screw pattern — the Antminer S19 series and the standard S21. The S21 Pro and XP moved to 140 mm fans and take the 140 mm Intake Filter Ring instead.

Can I still get at the fan screws with the filter fitted?

Yes. A 9 mm access hole sits above each of the eight screws, so a driver reaches every one of them through the frame. Fitting the filter does not commit you to taking it off again the next time a fan needs attention.

Does it work with a shroud on the same machine?

That is the intended pairing. The filter goes on the intake face, the shroud goes on the exhaust face, and the bolt patterns are common to within 0.017 mm across the dual-120 family — so this frame and the Antminer S19 / S21 Dual 120 mm to 6″ Duct Shroud land on the same machines.

How much of the opening does the frame take up?

The support grille occupies 18.6 percent of the frame aperture and the rest is clear opening, before any media goes in. That grille is what holds a soft pad flat under suction so it cannot be drawn into the blades or bunch up and leave a bypass gap at the edge.
