What this kit contains
D-Central Technologies has operated as a Bitcoin mining infrastructure company since 2016, with a hardware repair and refurbishment facility in Montreal, Quebec. The datasets below are compiled from field repair records, manufacturer specifications cross-referenced against the Bitcoin Mining Hack Bible, provincial utility tariff schedules, and D-Central’s secondary-market trading activity. Each dataset is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).
This page covers five core datasets. The broader open data hub at /data/ indexes additional datasets not listed here — including ASIC chip specifications, error-code reference data, Bitaxe benchmark measurements, and the Bitcoin Mining Facts Canon. Every dataset listed below has been independently verified against primary sources. Electricity rates, firmware versions, and hardware prices change; hedge time-sensitive figures and check the last_verified date in each dataset before publishing.
The datasets
1 — Used-ASIC Price Index
Weekly secondary-market price signals for used Bitcoin ASICs (Antminer, Whatsminer, Canaan series), segmented by model and condition (used / refurbished). Data reflects D-Central’s refurbishment and trading activity in the Canadian and North American secondary market. Useful for tracking hardware cost trends, estimating miner return-on-investment, and reporting on the used-hardware resale market. This is D-Central’s own market data, not a composite index of the broader market.

2 — ASIC Reliability Index
Failure-rate indicators and reliability scores for major ASIC mining hardware families, derived from D-Central’s field repair records at the Montreal facility. Covers dominant failure modes, component-level failure patterns, and per-model reliability signals. Useful for reporting on hardware quality across generations, comparing manufacturer warranty representations against real-world outcomes, and assessing total cost of ownership in mining operations.

3 — ASIC Power Profiles Database
820 power and efficiency profiles across 28 Antminer model families — the most granular publicly available dataset of its kind for this hardware category. Each record covers a named operating mode (stock, underclocked, overclocked, immersion, heat-recapture), nominal hashrate (TH/s), power draw (W), efficiency (J/TH), and firmware context. Compiled and cross-referenced from the Bitcoin Mining Hack Bible and manufacturer specification sheets. Useful for energy-consumption reporting, mining-economics analysis, hardware efficiency comparison, and carbon-intensity estimates.

All values are rated/nominal. Real-world output varies with ambient temperature, PSU efficiency, grid voltage, and firmware tuning. The API response includes a firmware_context field per profile indicating applicable operating conditions.
4 — Canadian Electricity Rates by Province and Territory
Residential, general commercial, and large-industrial electricity rates for all 10 Canadian provinces and 3 territories, as of June 2026. Each row is source-attributed to the relevant utility’s tariff schedule or regulator order, with a tariff_schedule_url field per row. Includes a Boolean ideal_mining flag (Quebec and Manitoba are true at current rates) and an ideal_ai_compute flag. Covers tiered-rate structures, time-of-use (TOU) availability, renewable-energy share percentage, primary generation source, and utility name. Proposed rates not yet approved by energy regulators are clearly distinguished in the notes field (e.g., Hydro-Québec’s pending blockchain/crypto tariff).

5 — Firmware Feature Matrix
DCENT_OS is D-Central Technologies’ GPL-3.0 open-source Bitcoin mining firmware for selected Bitmain Antminer ASIC miners. Guarded artifacts exist only for exact S9 XIL and S19j Pro XIL lanes; install evidence is incomplete and neither is production-ready. Check the exact evidence ledger.

The electricity rates dataset reflects utility tariff schedules as of June 2026; rates change when regulators approve increases, so check the last_verified date and verify at the source URL in each row before publishing time-sensitive figures. The power profiles database is updated when new models or operating modes are verified against primary sources. The reliability index is updated as repair data accumulates. The firmware matrix is updated when firmware versions change materially. The used-ASIC price index reflects weekly signals.
Are these datasets available via API for live queries or embedding?
Yes. All five datasets have live REST API endpoints at https://d-central.tech/wp-json/dc/v1/ (CORS open, no authentication). Endpoints support filters — for example, /wp-json/dc/v1/electricity-rates?ideal_mining=true returns only jurisdictions flagged as suitable for Bitcoin mining, and /wp-json/dc/v1/firmware-features?firmware=braiins returns only BraiinsOS+ rows from the firmware matrix. The REST API is the live source of truth; the static CSV/JSON files are versioned snapshots.
What is the geographic scope — is this only relevant to Canadian operations?
The electricity rates dataset is Canada-specific (13 jurisdictions). The ASIC power profiles, reliability index, and firmware matrix cover hardware and firmware deployed globally — Antminer hardware is used worldwide, and the firmware ecosystem is international. The used-ASIC price index reflects the North American secondary market. None of the datasets are restricted to Canadian use cases; the Canadian energy and sovereignty angle is one of multiple valid applications.
