Threaded duct collar for the Antminer S19 and S21, on the wide base
A threaded duct collar turns the duct connection into a screw joint. This shroud hoods both 120 mm exhaust fans of an Antminer S19 or standard S21 into one plenum, and ends in a printed male thread instead of a plain collar. The matching 6-inch threaded duct receiver carries your 6-inch duct and screws straight onto it — hand tight, no band, no driver.
The thread earns its keep twice. Its second job is the threaded collar cap: when a machine comes down for service or sits idle through a warm month, the receiver comes off and the cap screws on in its place, sealing the machine out of a shared duct run so the miners still working do not push air back through a dead one.

The shroud on its own ends in a thread, so plan on ordering a mate with it. For duct straight onto a collar, take the plain wide-base 6-inch shroud. If the joint needs to come apart in one movement rather than several turns, the wide-base bayonet shroud is quicker. The same thread on the 250 mm flange is the standard-base threaded shroud.
How it goes on
- Mount the shroud over both exhaust fans with M4 screws through the eight flange slots, using a 9 mm or larger flat washer under each head or the miner’s large-head fan screws. There is 8.10 to 11.19 mm of driver clearance at every hole.
- Fit your 6-inch duct to the threaded receiver.
- Offer the receiver to the shroud thread and turn it on by hand until it stops. Hand tight is the specification.
- When the machine comes down, unscrew the receiver and screw the blank-off cap on in its place.
Why a thread, rather than a clamp
A screw thread is a wedge wrapped around a cylinder, and that is why it holds: turning it converts a small hand force into a large axial pull that draws the two faces together and keeps them there. A hose clamp does something different — it squeezes radially and relies on friction to resist a pull along the axis. For a joint made and unmade regularly the thread has better manners: engagement spreads over many turns instead of one band, and it lands at the same depth every time.

- Makes and breaks by hand, with no clamp to source, tension or lose.
- Accepts a blank-off cap on the same thread, so an idle machine seals out of a shared duct run.
- Repeats the same seating depth on every reconnection, which a hand-tightened band cannot promise.
- Sits on the 260 mm plate, which takes the turning load across the exhaust face.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need anything else to connect a duct?
Yes. The shroud finishes in a thread rather than a duct collar, so it needs the 6-inch threaded duct receiver to take 6-inch duct, or the threaded collar cap to close it off. Both are separate parts. For flex duct pushed straight on with no mate to order, buy the plain wide-base 6-inch shroud.
Does the base width change the thread?
Not at all. The thread form, fan pitch and screw square are shared with the 250 mm standard-base threaded shroud, so a receiver or cap fits either. The only difference is the plate: 260 mm of flange against the exhaust face instead of 250 mm, which is what you want when the duct hangs and the machine sits on rails.
How tight should the receiver go?
Hand tight, and no further. Turn it on until it stops and leave it. Printed threads are strong in the direction they are asked to work and unhappy under a wrench, and the many turns of engagement do the holding.
What is the cap actually for?
Machines that share a duct run. When one miner is down, its open shroud lets the others push warm air back through the dead machine and into the room. The cap closes that path, and keeps dust off hashboards while a machine sits.
Which Antminers is the flange cut for?
The dual 120 mm face shared by the S19 generation and the standard S21 and T21 — 120.0 mm between fan centres on a 105 mm screw square. The 140 mm machines, S21 Pro and S21 XP among them, need the S21 Pro dual 140 mm shroud family.
