Antminer S17 full-wrap shroud, dual 120 mm to 6-inch duct
An Antminer S17 shroud that wraps the exhaust end of the chassis rather than clipping to the fan face, and sends everything it gathers out through a 6-inch collar. The S17 generation has been written off more than once and is still hashing in workshops, garages and basements everywhere — this is the part that makes one of them liveable indoors.
The wrap reaches past the two 120 mm fans and closes the corner and edge gaps that a fan-face cone leaves open, so the exhaust goes down the duct instead of curling back around the chassis and into the intake.
Drawn in-house to the chassis end the Antminer S17, S17 Pro and T17 share, produced as one continuous PETG body, 303.4 mm across.
What it fits: the S17 and T17 chassis family
Built around the exhaust end of the Antminer S17, S17 Pro and T17 — three BM1397 machines on one 178 × 296 mm housing face, which is the face this shell is cut to. The shell is drawn with clearance at the chassis lip on purpose: these are hardware veterans, frequently opened, re-shimmed and re-gasketed over their service lives, and a shell cut to zero tolerance would fight half of them. Standard 6-inch collar on the outlet.
Different generation on the bench? The S19 full-wrap shroud covers that chassis, and the fan-referenced dual 120 mm to 6″ shroud handles anything with a standard 120 mm pair where no dedicated wrap exists.
How it installs
- Slide the shell over the exhaust end of the machine, seating it on the chassis.
- Square it up so the collar points where the duct wants to go.
- Clamp 6-inch duct to the collar with a worm clamp.
- Give the 303.4 mm length room behind the machine before pushing the rack home.
Why an S17 in particular benefits from a wrap
S17-class machines run with thin thermal margins and a well-earned reputation for heat-related trouble. The single most useful thing ducting does for them is separate exhaust from intake: a machine that re-breathes its own hot air is starting every cooling cycle at a disadvantage, and on hardware with little headroom to spare that matters more than it does on a modern unit.
A wrap does that job more completely than a fan-face shroud, because the spill it closes off is exactly the air that would otherwise drift around the chassis and back to the front. The trade is size — this is a 303.4 mm body and it is not a rack-shelf part everywhere.

Open source: the S17 file is free
Older hardware is exactly where open files earn their keep, because nobody else is going to tool up for a machine this age. The S17 wrap is D-Central’s own drawing, released under CC BY-SA 4.0 at the 3D models download center — download it, tighten the shell to your own unit, adapt it to a chassis variant, print and sell what you make.
This model’s card links the ZIP: the STL, the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence and the installation and safety guide. D-Central Technologies drew the shell, and adapting it to an S17-family chassis we do not list is exactly what the licence is for.

Frequently asked questions
Which S17 models does this cover?
The Antminer S17, the S17 Pro and the T17. Those three carry the same 178 × 296 mm housing face, and the shell interior is cut to it. The S17+, T17+ and T17e moved to a 175 × 304 mm face and the S17e is longer again, so those four take a different body.
How snug does it sit?
There is deliberate clearance at the chassis lip. These machines have usually been apart at least once, and a shell cut with no tolerance would not go on half of them. If you want it tighter on your particular unit, the file is open and that is a small edit.
Is it worth ducting an S17 at all?
If you are running one, yes. They are hot, loud machines that benefit more from a clean exhaust path than newer hardware does, and separating exhaust from intake is real thermal gain on a unit with no margin to give away.
Will this quieten it down?
A shroud plus a duct run moves the noise source away from you and takes the edge off the fan tone. For a bigger reduction, the expansion-chamber shroud silencer puts a volume between the fans and the duct, which is the standard way to damp fan noise without lining that sheds fibres into the air.
6-inch or 8-inch?
For a full wrap on a machine that runs this hot, the 8-inch version is the safer default. Take this 6-inch body when the exit is short and straight or when the space behind the rack simply will not take a bigger collar.
