Description

Antminer S21 Pro dual 140 mm to 8-inch duct shroud

An 8-inch round has roughly 1.8 times the cross-sectional area of a 6-inch round — 203.2 mm against 152.4 mm, squared. That single ratio is the whole argument for this version of the Antminer S21 Pro shroud: same 140 mm fan-side geometry, a much wider door on the way out.

On a machine in the S21 Pro’s power class the duct, not the shroud, is usually what ends up limiting the run. Every metre of flex, every elbow and every filter downstream adds resistance the fans have to overcome, and the cheapest place to buy that resistance back is at the collar, before the air has gone anywhere.

Drawn in-house around the S21 Pro exhaust face and produced as one continuous PETG body.

What it fits: S21 Pro 140 mm fans, 8-inch duct

Built for the Antminer S21 Pro, S21+ and S21 XP rear 140 mm fan pair with a standard 8-inch outlet. It is not for the standard S21 or S19 generation, which run 120 mm fans and take the Antminer S19 / S21 Dual 120 mm to 8″ Duct Shroud. Tape across a rear fan flange tells you which family you are in.

Tight on space behind the rack? The 6-inch version is the smaller body, at 292 x 170 x 152.4 mm. Running metric duct instead, the 200 mm metric version is the closest equivalent to this one.

How it installs

  1. Seat it over the rear 140 mm fan pair with both frames inside the plenum mouth.
  2. Clamp 8-inch duct or an 8-inch inline fan flange to the collar.
  3. Leave room for the 292 mm width and the 203.2 mm collar end behind the machine.
  4. Keep the first metre of duct as straight as the room allows, then take your bends.

Why the bigger collar is the cheaper decision

Restriction in a duct run compounds. A narrow collar, a long flex, two elbows and a window port each take their cut, and the fans pay for all of it continuously, in electricity, for as long as the machine runs. Widening the very first fitting is a one-time cost that never asks for anything again. The only real price of oversizing is the space the duct occupies.

Inside the body, both 140 mm fan columns merge into a shared plenum before the section rounds off to the 8-inch collar, so the two flows settle together instead of colliding in the throat. The transition is a continuous curve; there is no flat plate with a hole punched in it anywhere in this part.

  • Opens the exit to a full 8-inch collar — about 1.8 times the area of 6-inch
  • Bolts straight onto 8-inch inline fans and 8-inch trunk hardware
  • Merges both 140 mm fan columns before the transition to round
  • Holds shape in exhaust heat: PETG rather than PLA
  • One continuous body with no seams to leak at the joint
  • Steps down to 6-inch at the wall if that is the hole you already have

This design is D-Central’s own, drawn around the S21 Pro exhaust geometry, and it is released open source under CC BY-SA 4.0 at the 3D models download center. Download it, cut it, scale the collar, print it in your own shop, sell what you make from it — that is the licence, and there is no version of it that costs money.

Straight to the file: the model card for this shroud, or the ZIP itself, carrying the STL, the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence and the installation and safety guide. D-Central Technologies drew every surface in it.

This listing is the finished article: produced to order in PETG, black or orange, and shipped from Montreal, Quebec, so you get the part rather than an evening at the machine. The download stays free; the purchase, or D-Central’s fund page, is what pays for the next drawing.

Frequently asked questions

Will it connect to an 8-inch inline fan such as an AC Infinity Cloudline S8?

Yes. The collar is a standard 8-inch round, so anything sized for 8-inch duct clamps to it, inline fans included. Use a short length of duct or the 8″ Duct Coupler between the two if you want the fan decoupled from the machine rather than hanging off the shroud.

Does the S19 shroud fit an S21 Pro?

No, and this is the single most common mix-up in the S21 line. S19s and standard S21s use 120 mm fans; the S21 Pro moved to 140 mm. A dual-120 body leaves the 140 mm fan frames proud of the mouth. Measure the rear fan flange and buy to that number.

Can I step down to 6-inch later in the run?

Yes, and that is the right order to do it in. Run 8-inch off the machine and drop to 6-inch at the penetration with the 8″ to 6″ reducer. Reducing at the end of a run costs far less than starting narrow at the collar.

My duct is metric. Do you make 200 mm?

Yes — the S21 Pro dual 140 mm to 200 mm metric shroud is the same fan-side body with a metric collar. Worth knowing: 8-inch is 203.2 mm and metric 200 mm duct is not the same number, so pick the collar that matches the ducting you actually own.

How big is it behind the machine?

292 mm wide by 203.2 mm at the collar end and 175 mm tall. That is a substantial body, so check the gap between the rear of the miner and the wall or the next shelf before ordering, especially in a rack.
