This is the Whatsminer 140 mm duct adapter for the size that imperial fittings cannot reach. 160 mm sits in the gap between 6 inch at 152.4 mm and 8 inch at 203.2 mm, so if your inline fan and hose are 160 mm there is no inch-sized shroud in the world that will seal on them. Rather than sell you a collar plus a reducer, the collar here is cut at 160 mm.

The fan side is Whatsminer-specific: a 135.0 mm bore from exact CAD of the MicroBT fan, so the shroud wall sits where the fan ends rather than where a nominal 140 mm figure would put it.

The body is a 160 mm square, 125 mm deep, barely larger than the collar it carries, which is the point on a machine that sits shoulder to shoulder with its neighbours.

Air-cooled Whatsminer M-series miners with a single 140 mm exhaust fan, exhausting into 160 mm metric flex duct. The machines that share that single 140 mm exhaust fan, and the only ones claimed here, are the M30S+, the M50, the M50S+ and the M60.

Other duct sizes in the same family: 150 mm for domestic metric hose, 200 mm for the biggest metric runs, and 8-inch for imperial. If noise is the problem you are actually solving, look at the Whatsminer 140 mm expansion-chamber shroud silencer instead of a plain collar.

How it installs

1. Sit the flange over the single 140 mm exhaust fan on its screw pattern.
2. Fix through the 5.0 mm holes and 5.424 mm slots with the machine’s own large-head fan screws, or your own with a 9 mm or larger flat washer under each head.
3. Slide 160 mm metric flex duct over the collar, past the 160.0 mm crest.
4. Clamp onto the 158.0 mm sealing land, then run the duct out and support its weight.

Why a short, square body

Every millimetre a shroud projects off the back of a miner is a millimetre of aisle you no longer have, and Whatsminers are rarely installed one at a time. Keeping the transition at 125 mm deep on a 160 mm square face means the part disappears into the row rather than becoming the thing you catch your knuckles on.

Short does not mean abrupt. The passage from the 135.0 mm fan bore to the 160 mm collar opens gradually and turns square into round without a hard corner, because a sharp step is where flow separates from the wall, recirculates, and turns useful pressure into noise. That shaping is the entire reason to buy a formed body rather than bolt a plate with a hole in it over the fan.

A Whatsminer collar in 160 mm is about as niche as this line gets, which is exactly why the design is published rather than kept. It is D-Central’s own drawing, released under CC BY-SA 4.0 at the 3D models download center, free to download, modify, print and sell. Niche parts should not depend on one shop deciding to keep making them.
