Whatsminer 140 mm fan to 200 mm metric duct shroud
This is the Whatsminer shroud for people building a run rather than venting a machine. One air-cooled M-series exhausts through a single 140 mm fan; a 200 mm duct is the size of a trunk several machines can share, that a large metric inline fan mates with, and that Avalon Q ducting uses.
200 mm is not 8 inches, which is 203.2 mm. This collar is drawn metric: 200.0 mm crest, 198.0 mm sealing land, flex-over so a worm clamp does the sealing.
The fan side keeps the Whatsminer-specific 135.0 mm bore from exact CAD of the MicroBT fan, in one piece of PETG, 200 mm square and 125 mm deep.
What it fits: air-cooled Whatsminer M-series on 200 mm metric duct
Air-cooled Whatsminer M-series miners with a single 140 mm exhaust fan, exhausting into 200 mm metric duct. The four machines with that single 140 mm exhaust fan, and the four this flange is cut for, are the M30S+, the M50, the M50S+ and the M60.
For a smaller metric run, the 160 mm Whatsminer shroud or the 150 mm Whatsminer shroud. On imperial fittings, the Whatsminer 140 mm to 8-inch shroud at 203.2 mm. If the machine is a dual-140 Antminer rather than a Whatsminer, the equivalent is the dual 140 mm to 200 mm metric shroud.
How it installs
- Set the flange over the single 140 mm exhaust fan on its screw pattern.
- Screw through the 5.0 mm holes and 5.424 mm slots, using the machine’s large-head fan screws or your own with a 9 mm or larger flat washer under each head.
- Push 200 mm metric duct over the collar, past the 200.0 mm crest.
- Clamp onto the 198.0 mm sealing land.
- Join the branch into your trunk or inline fan, supporting the duct near the shroud.
Why step one fan up to 200 mm
Going from a 140 mm fan to a 200 mm duct is a deliberate expansion, and expansion trades velocity for area. The air slows down, which is what you want in a shared trunk: slow air is quieter air, it costs less friction per metre, and it leaves headroom for the next machine joining the same run. What you do not want is to buy that trade with a step change in section, because an abrupt expansion lets the jet separate from the wall and roll into a recirculating pocket that eats the benefit.
So the body opens progressively from the 135.0 mm fan bore out to the 200 mm collar, turning square into round along the way. That gradual opening is the one thing a flat plate with a big hole in it cannot do.

Open source: build the room, keep the file
Anyone building a shared 200 mm trunk needs several of these, and shipping several large printed parts across a border is a poor use of everyone’s money. So the design is D-Central’s own and it is published under CC BY-SA 4.0 at the 3D models download center: download it, modify it, print as many as your room needs, sell them if you like.
This model has its own card at the 140 to 200 mm entry, and the file is whatsminer_140_to_200mm.zip — the STL, the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence and the installation and safety guide. D-Central Technologies drew the geometry and open-sourced it outright.

Frequently asked questions
Does going from 140 mm to 200 mm slow the air down too much?
It slows it down, which is the point. The fan moves the same volume either way; a wider duct simply carries it at lower speed, and lower speed means less friction per metre and less air noise. What matters is that the expansion is gradual rather than a step, so the flow stays attached to the wall through the change in section.
Is 200 mm the same as 8 inch?
No. Eight inches is 203.2 mm and this collar is 200.0 mm. On flexible hose that 3.2 mm is enough to leave a clamp taking up slack or to stop a metric hose passing the crest cleanly. For imperial ducting take the Whatsminer 8-inch shroud instead.
Which Whatsminers does this fit?
The M30S+, the M50, the M50S+ and the M60, each with the single 140 mm exhaust fan this flange follows. Hydro and immersion versions have no fan face for a shroud to mount on, so they are outside the part entirely.
Why is the sealing land 198.0 mm?
So a clamp always has travel. The crest is at duct nominal to act as a stop, and the land sits 2.0 mm below it, at the tight end of the male hardware a 200 mm duct is built to slide over. The clamp then closes onto the duct wall rather than bottoming out against the collar.
Can several Whatsminers share one 200 mm trunk?
That is the case this size is drawn for. Give each machine its own shroud and a short branch, then bring the branches into the trunk at a gradual angle with a Y-splitter rather than a blunt tee, so the streams merge instead of colliding. Keep the trunk short and well supported.
