Whatsminer shroud: 140 mm fan to 150 mm metric duct
Search for a Whatsminer shroud and you mostly find files, not parts. The MicroBT machines are the forgotten half of air-cooled mining, and what you can buy is usually a generic 140 mm funnel that treats the Whatsminer fan as if it were any other. It is not. This shroud is drawn around the Whatsminer fan itself, with a 135.0 mm bore from exact CAD of that fan, and it lands on 150 mm metric duct.
150 mm is the size the K19 Rohrventilator class inline fans use, and the standard domestic extraction size across metric markets. If your hose is metric, a 6-inch collar will not seal on it: six inches is 152.4 mm, not 150. It is a compact part too, 154 by 154 mm and 125 mm deep, so it adds little behind a machine that usually lives in a tight row.
What it fits: air-cooled Whatsminer M-series, single 140 mm fan
Air-cooled Whatsminer M-series miners with a single 140 mm exhaust fan, exhausting into 150 mm metric duct. The machines carrying that fan face are the M30S+, the M50, the M50S+ and the M60 — those four, named, because a family label is not a fitment claim. The flange follows the fan and the screw pattern, not the badge.
This is an air-cooled part. Hydro and immersion machines have no fan face to bolt to. If your ducting is 160 or 200 mm, take the Whatsminer 140 mm to 160 mm shroud or the Whatsminer 140 mm to 200 mm shroud; on imperial hose, the Whatsminer 140 mm to 6-inch shroud.
How it installs
- Place the flange over the 140 mm exhaust fan, aligned on the fan screw pattern.
- Screw down through the 5.0 mm holes and 5.424 mm slots, reusing the machine’s large-head fan screws or adding a 9 mm or larger flat washer under your own.
- Slide 150 mm metric flex duct over the collar past the 150.0 mm crest.
- Clamp onto the 148.0 mm sealing land behind the crest.
- Route the duct to a window port, an inline fan or the room you are heating.
Why the Whatsminer-specific bore matters
A shroud bore that is drawn to a nominal fan size rather than to the fan in front of you either overlaps the blade sweep or leaves a step. Overlap is a restriction exactly where the air is leaving the blade tips, and a step is a place for flow to separate and turn into noise. Cutting the bore at 135.0 mm from exact CAD of the Whatsminer fan puts the wall where the fan actually ends, so the discharge sees a clean opening.
From the bore the body converges into the collar as a single tapering passage. There is only one fan here, so nothing has to be merged; the whole job is to turn a square fan face into a round duct without a hard corner in between, which is what a printed body does and a folded sheet-metal one cannot.

Open source: because Whatsminer owners deserve real parts
The reason there are so few Whatsminer shrouds is that everyone draws for Antminers first. D-Central drew this one in-house around the MicroBT fan and published it under CC BY-SA 4.0 at the 3D models download center, free to download, modify, print and sell. If you own a printer, the file is the whole answer.
The model has its own card at the 140 to 150 mm entry, and the file is whatsminer_140_to_150mm.zip — the STL, the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence and the installation and safety guide together in one download. D-Central Technologies drew all of it and gave it away.

Frequently asked questions
Which Whatsminers use a 140 mm exhaust fan?
Four machines, and they are the four this flange is drawn for: the M30S+, the M50, the M50S+ and the M60. Flange details vary across such a long-running line, which is exactly why the claim is those four and not the M-series as a whole. A single 140 mm exhaust fan on the standard screw pattern is what this part sits on.
Why a 135.0 mm bore instead of 140 mm?
Because that is where the Whatsminer fan actually ends. The bore is taken from exact CAD of the fan rather than from its nominal size, so the shroud wall does not overlap the blade sweep and does not leave a step behind it. A generic 140 mm bore does one or the other, and both cost you at the outlet.
Is 150 mm the same as 6 inch?
No. Six inches is 152.4 mm. On flexible hose that 2.4 mm is the difference between a clamp doing the sealing and tape doing it. This collar is cut at 150.0 mm with a 148.0 mm land for metric hose; for imperial, take the Whatsminer 6-inch shroud.
Does it fit hydro or immersion Whatsminers?
No. This is an air-cooled part: it bolts to the fan screw pattern around a 140 mm exhaust fan, and liquid-cooled machines have neither. If you have a mixed room, the air-cooled machines can share the same 150 mm duct run once each has its own shroud.
