Overview
The exit point for a full-size 8-inch flex run: a 248 mm square plate that mounts in a window insert panel, plywood or a wall penetration and presents a male collar that 8-inch flex duct slips straight over. It carries the same plate features as the rigid 8-inch window port — countersunk mounting holes, gasket groove, gussets and insect-screen retention — with the duct interface swapped for a flex collar.
It is not a drop-in equal of the rigid port: the through-bore is 196.4 mm rather than 204.0 mm — 7.3% less free area, the geometric price of a collar the flex core can slip over. If your run ends in rigid pipe, the rigid port keeps the larger opening.

Measure before you order. Fit dimensions in this line are derived from published fan and chassis geometry and are not yet validated against measured production hardware. Check your flange size and clearances against the footprint below. If something does not fit, tell us — that is how the next revision gets better.
How it is used
Cut the opening, seat the plate, screw it down through the countersunk holes with a seal in the gasket groove, then slip the 8-inch flex duct over the collar and clamp it on the land. It is the last part in the run — everything upstream of it stays serviceable from inside.
The plate carries an insect-screen rebate with retention tabs. Screen material is not supplied — cut a disc of screen to the bore plus about 7 mm and press it into the rebate behind the tabs.
There is no backdraft flap, and there cannot be one: a gravity flap needs a hinge pin or live hinge plus running clearance, and a single-piece part cannot hinge. When the miner is off, outside air can come back through the opening. If you need backdraft protection, fit a commercial inline backdraft damper in the duct run, or blank the run off when the machine is down.

Frequently asked questions
Is this equivalent to the rigid 8-inch window port?
No. The through-bore is 196.4 mm against the rigid port’s 204.0 mm — 7.3% less free area, the geometric price of a slip-over collar. Choose by what your run ends in: flex here, rigid pipe there.
Does it stop cold air blowing back in when the miner is off?
No — there is no backdraft flap, because a single-piece part cannot hinge. Fit a commercial inline backdraft damper in the duct run, or blank the run off when the machine is down.
Is insect screen included?
No — the rebate and retention tabs are in the plate; you supply the screen. Cut a disc to the bore plus about 7 mm and press it in.
