Bayonet duct receiver for 6-inch duct — the twist-lock half
This 6-inch bayonet duct receiver is the duct-side half of D-Central’s twist-lock connection, and it exists for one job: getting the duct off a miner without touching a clamp. One end is a bayonet socket that drops onto the collar of a D-Central 6-inch bayonet shroud and locks with 60 degrees of rotation. The other end is the flex-over spigot used across the whole ducting line — clamp land at 150.4 mm, retention bead crest at 152.4 mm, 145.6 mm through-bore.
Everybody who runs an ASIC at home learns the same lesson the first time a fan dies: the duct is in the way. Tape comes off, a clamp gets backed out, and the run sags while the machine is on the bench. The receiver is set up once, clamped to the duct, and left there. After that the machine leaves the run with a quarter turn by hand.
Both bayonet shrouds in the line carry geometrically identical collars, so one receiver serves either of them — entry, lock angle and pull-off engagement are the same part to part.

A bayonet shroud does not take plain duct on its own. The locking tabs on its collar are shaped to catch this receiver and nothing else — that is the whole point of a quick-disconnect. Shroud and receiver are designed as a pair and bought as a pair. How it installs
- Slide your 6-inch flex duct over the spigot end until the core passes the retention bead.
- Seat a worm clamp on the 150.4 mm land, behind the bead, and tighten. That clamp is now permanent.
- Present the receiver square to the shroud collar, push it home against the tabs, and twist 60 degrees to the stop.
- To take the machine out of the run, twist back and pull. The duct, the clamp and the rest of the run never move.
Why the twist-lock earns its place
A hose clamp is a fine permanent joint and a poor removable one. Every cycle of loosening and retightening bites the flex core in the same place, and the clamp screw ends up on the wrong side of the duct against a wall. The bayonet moves the removable joint off the duct entirely and puts it on a rigid printed interface designed for repeated cycling: a straight entry, a helical ramp that pulls the two halves together as you rotate, and a detent at 60 degrees that holds the joint under the pull of a hanging duct. The clamp still does what clamps are good at — sealing flex to a spigot, once.
- Disconnect a ducted miner by hand, with no tools and no tape.
- Keep one clamped flex connection for the life of the run instead of re-clamping every service.
- Serve either bayonet shroud with a single part — the two collars are geometrically identical.
- Land on the same flex-over spigot as the rest of the line, so your clamps and duct stock carry straight over.
- Hold the joint under load through a positive 60-degree detent, not friction.
- Resist ASIC exhaust heat in PETG, which stays stiff where PLA goes soft.

The socket, the helical ramp and the 60-degree detent are our geometry, drawn here and open-sourced here — not a remix of anyone else’s file — and it is released under CC BY-SA 4.0 through the 3D models download center, free to download, modify, remix and sell. Its own card is the 6-inch bayonet receiver model. We would rather the whole mining world had a working quick-disconnect than that we owned one.

Frequently asked questions
Can I connect flex duct straight to a bayonet shroud and skip the receiver?
No — the locking tabs on the bayonet collar are shaped to catch this receiver, so plain duct has nothing clean to seat against. Buy them as a pair. If you want to clamp flex directly to the shroud with no quick-disconnect, the Antminer S19 / S21 Dual 120 mm to 6″ Duct Shroud carries a plain flex collar instead.
Does one receiver fit both bayonet shrouds?
Yes. The standard-mount and wide-base bayonet shrouds carry geometrically identical collars — same entry diameter, same tab positions, same 60-degree lock. If you run a mixed rack, the receivers are interchangeable between machines, which is useful when you shuffle units between rack positions.
How many receivers do I need?
One per duct drop you want to quick-disconnect. The receiver lives on the duct, not on the miner, so a four-machine room with four ducted drops takes four receivers and four shrouds. If a machine is permanently ducted and never moves, a plain-collar shroud and a clamp will do that job on its own.
Will 6 inches carry the exhaust from one machine?
A single 6-inch run is the normal size for one air-cooled ASIC and is what the whole 6-inch family is built around. If you are joining two machines into one trunk, or you already run 8-inch inline gear, step up at a 8″ to 6″ Duct Reducer rather than choking an 8-inch fan down to a 6-inch drop.
Does clamping to the duct instead of the shroud hurt sealing?
No — the seal is still a worm clamp on a spigot with a retention bead, the same joint you would make at the shroud. It simply gets made once, in a comfortable spot, instead of being remade every service. The bayonet handles the removable side, where a clamp was never the right tool.
